The advantages you will see include more low-end and mid-range torque and better throttle response. The amount of added torque is very noticeable on most ATVs and is a perfect remedy for the power loss you may have experienced by adding larger tires. These kits are moderately easy to install, but will require some tuning time and patience. Most ATVs will see an increase of torque between 18-22% through 3rd gear. High-mid to high range will not be affected very noticeably, but after all these are utility 4x4 quads.
It retunes the transmission to better match engine torque when large mud tires are used. It also reduces belt slippage. The net result is more substantially improved in low-end pulling power.
This really depends on your ATV, however, on average you gain around 15-20% in horsepower and 25-30% in torque. It is a dramatic difference in torque in low and mid range where utility riders typically want it. It is not about adding top speed.
Yes, the Lift Kit will put some extra stress to the front CV joints. When the angle on the CV joints is increased, the amount of premature wear goes up. However, even though the lift kit does add stress, it does not come close to matching the stress added by big mud tires and wide open throttles in deep, root-filled mud holes. We have thousands of lift kit users who have had them installed since 1996 (when we made the first ones) with no problems. Buyers generally agree that the added mobility provided by lift kits more than justifies the slightly accelerated wear.
The springs are designed to try and keep the ATV as close to manufacturers' height as possible. The springs are tighter coiled than OEM springs and will handle 25lbs more of load per spring over the stock springs that come on the ATV. It varies from ATV to ATV but we have seen a gain of 1" lift or even a little more depending on how bad the stock springs are sagging.
Yes, both of the products are designed to work together. The Locker will give you the luxury of true four-wheel drive and the UN-Locker will allow for the switch to two-wheel drive. The two products used together supply the rider with the best of both worlds. The added pleasure and performance is really outstanding.
Yes, it will work exactly like it did before the installation. The Detroit Locker will not change the shift mechanism from 2WD to 4WD, but you will have true 4 wheel drive once the 4WD mode is engaged. No more one wheel spin-outs.
It replaces your factory front drive shaft with High Lifter's drive shaft. It is mechanically operated with a cable which disengages the shaft and allows your ATV to operate in 2WD.
The Mudzilla is a smoother riding tire, but the Outlaw is a better "Pure Mudder". Due to the cupped tread and superior sidewall traction there is no other tire on the market that will "hang" with an Outlaw in the thick muck.
Any warranty issues related to your ATV is really up to your dealer. If you have a warranty question, you should consult your ATV dealer for more information before installing one. Many dealers sell and install lift kits on new ATVs. Lift kits do not require cutting or welding and are not a permanent installation. If there should be a reason to remove it, it comes off as easily as it goes on.
