that is the sound that my 4x4 actuator is making when i drive through some water. i have sealed up the actuator box and dieelectric greased the connection coming out of the black box. is there something i am missing or do i need to redo my work lol...   and it seems that it is very hard to steer like it kicks in and out of 4x4 at times when it is doing this....

You need to seal your front cover on the actuator and put some dielectric grease on the electrical connection. Its getting water inside of it.

Is the switch on your handlebars shorted out or dirty.  The boot is torn on mine.  From time to time, I have to take it apart to clean it.

also check the plug at the end of the wires closer to the steering stem, put dielectirc grease in it as well.

That's why when I buy my next bike, it will only have the 6 month warranty.  After that, I will do it all myself.  If not before.

Got money saying this is the problem... Why you might ask? Cause mine was doing the exact same thing! ha  It is a ground plug and the ground is being shut on/off so to speak.  Mine was clogged with mud and you could touch your fingertip to the metal and it would ground thru you.  Clean it out good, die electric grease the heck out of it and bet it will work fine

mine done it and i just put it in water up to the diff and i could stick that wire in the water and it did it and pick it up and would go back..... i adjusted the metal round connector (bend it in a lil) in the inside it. put some die-electric grease in it. plug it up and i put some silcone around the edge of it to help it seal up.

all it does is tells your 4wd when the diff lock is engaged. so when it grounds out it will put your bike back in 4wd thinkin that the diff. lock is enaged.

all i do when i get out of the sticky spot i disengage the diff lock and 4wd and pull fwd a few ft and back up a few ft to make sure it is not engaged any more... then after a lil bit down the trail i will spin the back tires just to make sure it is in 2wd...

i hope this helps u
