Status: offline 		Thinking about hooking it up to my new tv using HDMI cables. Is the difference in quailty worth the $30 for the cable?

Status: offline 		seems to have a good bit of difference. picture seems to be cleaner and sharper with one. you could always check ebay for a cable alot cheaper. ive been told that there really isnt that much difference between the cheap/expensive, thin/thick, gold plated/non gold plated. just a thought on that though

walmart=$30 and I know i won't get screwed so it might be worth an extra $15. Might get some tomorrow if i get a chance!

Status: offline 		yeah, walmart will take anything back...had a friend whos mom cleaned up his boots from when he was like 5 and took them to walmart and told them they were the wrong size, got them to exchange em for a size 13!

Status: offline 		If I recall correctly, the difference in the cables (as far as price goes) is their ability to transfer more information than the others.  This is rated in Gbps (Giga-bytes per second).

The cable I bought for my PS3 was nearly $80. 

Anywho, the good thing about the HDMI is that it transfers video as well as sound so you don't need the extra sound cable.  However, I have heard that if you use the HDMI solely for video and run separate audio audio cables, then the picture is even better since the sound is not being transferred through the cable.  I'm not sure if that's true or not, especially with the higher rated cables that can transfer more data.

Status: offline 		i did a test between two identical tv's hooked up to two ps3's. one with a 80£ wire one with a 10£ wire IDENTICAL pictures.

Status: offline 		I have over 800 dollars in cables for my Hi def tv and surround sound. I was always told the better the cable the more you pay. Now the more reviews I read the more i see that only a computer or test equipment can pick of the differences in picture and sound. I've played around with some cheap cables an I cant tell a difference. So from now on all I buy is the cheaper cables. Also my Xbox 360 came with a Hdmi cable.
