All the bikes are pretty good for reliabilty. If you are going to be using them like you stated though, then you are going to start breaking things with bigger more powerful bikes. You have to pay to play.
As for the bikes, then that really matters on your riding style. Since you have stated that you love having power and using every bit of bit, then you only have 2 choices, BruteForce 750 or Can-am 800. The Thundercat 1000 is also another powerhouse, but I will not recommend that atv since it has not had enough time to prove itself or for ArcticCat to work the bugs out.

The Can-am is very expensive. The Brute is the best bang for the buck. Both have issues, both have major pluses. Just like any atv.
Like I said above, you have to pay to play. When you step up to big bore power, and have a heavy thumb, things are gonna break.

I second what he said. Thats some good advice to this much asked question. It is just a matter of how deep you pockets are.

Id go with the Brute due to the power/price ratio.

But if you treat anything like that its not gonna last.

I am partial to the the brute 750,But they are all built very good today. Brute force has been good to me. Can am 800 ,yamaha grizley, suzuki king quad, also are great choices.Artic cat is also building some real nice mud atvs. Yea if you beat on them long enough something will break . What ever you buy do the Maintenance ,if you run it real hard do maintenance more often. Use good oil, tires, filters and etc. Good luck

I don't think the brute is any worse on maintenance than any other big bore. I have owned Honda's, Popo's and now the Brute. I would recommend the brute to anyone. Since you also stated that you ride in the mud mostly I would consider the Cat also. There are people on here that own them that could give you more specifics on them but the 650 H1 or 700 would be another good one to check out when your shopping. The Grizz is a proven machine that is also a good choice. It will come down to personal preference. Just expect a little more parts replacement in any big bore because the power increase is substantial and it will break more parts if you have a heavy right thumb.

Personally I am partial to the cats. I have a 500m and it is by far the best bang for the buck in the mud. Sub 6k price tag, IRS, big clearance, locker, hi and low range one snorkle a lot of mods. But AC also have autos that will turn the biggest tires stock and are exceptional mudders. They do have flaws as with any other quad. My vote would be for the cats. The 09 thunder cat is a second year machine but I believe you will be happy with it.

i have to say they r all gonna be good bikes, minus their flaws. if it were me i would go in each specific forum, and ask the guys who own what, and how theyh like them and what as been a bad experience for them that ride those bikes. i gotta say, i love my vtwin cat, its not the baddest, but i have a blast

look at AC's new mud pro.  its the 700 h1, efi, auto, and comes from the factory with 28" mst's, snorkle, lower gears, cpu tunning, clutch mod, basically the only thing left to do is slap on an hmf and a set of real tires.  all the AC motors are torque monsters, and and will turn anything stock, my 650 will stand it on the rear bumper with 30" mudzillas and carry it for ever with just minimal mods.

but all of the big bores are good i think.  just some are geared to a little differant market.
