so today i go to buy some grease to put in the front end of the 800 we just got i accidentally pick up the Lt demand drive fluid. well i get to the house open up the munaul and it says use the premium demand drive hub fluid so i go back to the dealership and their manuals says to use the lt fluid. so he calls polaris and they says its an updated to the premium demand drive fluid. is this true? can i use the lt demand drive fluid in the front end i dont have the adc option on this 800. just wondering what can i do with this 15 dollar lt fluid since i've opened it up.

I have a couple of buddies that work at a dealership in baytown.  They told me just regular trans fluid.  His dad owns the dealership and he is the head guy in the shop so, whatever tip he gives I usually follow.  No problems out of it so far and its alot cheaper

The Lt Demand drive will be fine if you don't want it to go to waste and they won't take it back.

IF ur gonna use ATF i always used MObil 1 Synthetic atf. Worked well. I have an 08 sportsman w/o adc and i use the regular demand fluid. The Lt fluid is a must if u have ADC.

Some members on here report using type "F" ATF with no ill effects.

for most of the other fluids on a Polaris, substituting something else won't hurt.

For the front end, other fluids will be harmful.  ATF fluids will usually work, but they will trash the front end after awhile.

Seriously, what does the fluid cost for a front end change?  $4.00?  So if you use another type of fluid you might save $2.00?  If you can't afford that two dollars to use the RIGHT fluid, how did you afford the 7,000 machine in the first place?

Oil, trans, rear gearcase, antifreeze, they aren't anything really special.  The front gearcase fluid requires both lubricating and frictional properties.  the ATF covers the frictional properties but does not have the same lubricity as the polaris demand drive fluid.  ATF fluid will damage things over time.

Yes you can use it , just don't use the 2876144 ADC Front Drive Fluid as it is only for the reservoir container.

Just my .02 it costs around 60 bucks to go with Polaris products. The damage or shortened life span on your machine just isn't worth it. I'm a deep water guy and have had no drivetrain problems using factory products.
