The bearing should be pressed into the bearing carrier.
The hub should slip in the bearing, no force required.

But assuming you actually meant the bearing carrier, you have three choices, one is to press it in or have someone press it in properly.  The next is to tap it in yourself, be very careful doing this though and only apply force on the outer race.
The third is to freeze the bearing for a few hours, then lightly heat up the bearing carrier with a propane torch.  Don't get it really hot, just warm.  Then you should b able to pretty much drop the bearing in, as it warms up it will be pressed into place.

If you already got the old one out then the hard part is done.  The freeze and heat method works great.  Might have to tap on the outer race a bit like Big_T said but it's pretty easy.

once you get the old bearing out tear it apart if it isn't already.  take the outer race to a bench grinder and shave a little off the whole thing.  just so that it will slide into the housing without any pressure at all.  you can use that to tap in the new bearing.  that way it will only put pressure on the outer race and won't tear up a brand new bearing trying to install it.
