I have an 04 eiger and thought the starter was bad.  I coughed up the money for a new one, straight from suzuki, but when I try to start the quad, the starter buzzes loudly!!!  What's the problem?  I spent $70 for a new starter and I don't want to sink more money into this thing?  It's been very frustrating as my seven year old wants to ride so bad, but I can't get it working!!!!

Can anyone help and suggest what might be wrong??????

04 eiger auto 4x4.  no mods.

Thanks for the fast reply!!  I know the battery is good, so according to your logic, it's the start solnoid.  Where would I find that on the quad and do you know a ballpark to get a new one?

Sorry guys, I think with my in-ept mechanical abilities, I misspoke in my original email.....I've replaced the STARTER SOLENOID, NOT the starter.  The solenoid is what is making the horrible buzzing sound everytime I hit the ignition........

Does that mean the the starter itself is bad??????

Thanks for any advice/help you can share!

Might want to check the battery cables and connectors, sounds like not enough power to the solenoid, ensure your battery is charged and holding the charge.

I agree   if that solenoid wont lock then the starter isnt in the equation yet...
