If it has no bottom then the wider would be better.

Yeap, more then likely the 10s and 12s will serve you better as i think you wil find more mud out there that has a soft bottom to it rather than a hard bottom.

Now if your wanting them for pit racing the 10s will do better, but out on the trails i think wides in back will be better for you in the long run.

I would get both of them , Skinnys in front to dig and wides on the back to push . Alot of people do that style but if your racing and just wanted traction even faster just run sknnys all around .

Skinny tires in front, wide tires in back.  It gives you the optimum balance of digging and floating/paddling.  The only exception to that is pit racing, in which case you would want skinny all around.
