how good would a 420 rancher stock pull 27x10-12 vampires all around? or would that be too much for it?

A little searching and you could find tons of info on the vamps. In short, the 27x10 vamps (and all other vamps that aren't 12+ inches wide), measure about 1.5 inches short. If it were me, I'd do 27x10's front with 25x12 rear (measure just over 25, so the tires match up really close).  You shouldn't have any problems with that combo. Your rancher would handle any 25 inch atv tire (laws, mudzillas, sbacks, whatever) just fine. It would do most 26's, and some 27's stock. Tires like the 27x10 vamps really don't count as 27's imo, they are 25's because that is what they actually measure.

i have a set for sale that were on my 1995 big bear 350. in my opinion they do better on the smaller bikes than the big bikes. they are currently on my polaris 700.

do you own them?

No they dont ride bad at all.

Vamps have a very smooth ride especially at low psi.

The narrow 27's will measure about 25.5 - 26".

They still weigh more but I seriously doubt it will make a big difference powerwise. You will turn them fine.

true...

going from 26" Gators to 27" Vamps the ride improved.

The Gators were great but rode kinda rough when aired up good at under 7mph or so.

Vamps were a little smoother.

You'll have some trouble in shallow water doing a wheelie.  It's about air volume, so the smaller the tire up front, the harder it is to water wheelie.

But I agree, 25x12 rear, 27x10 front.  That Rancher shouldn't have any trouble with them, so long as it is not the new IRS with 17% higher gearing.
