everyone says one truck is better than the other towing wise so lets see them pics and tell us honestly what the weight is.

Thumbnail Image

this is my 1/2 ton a year ago with the stock springs. the truck and trailer together weght is 9800lb and i have hauled the truck both ways forward and backwards. backwards it starts 2 sways a little at 75-80 mph but the truck holds it. the silverado has a 5.3 in it and i love the power out of that little small block. i have since then add a rear spring upgrade from 3 leaf to 5 leaf.

Fully loaded with two Grizzly 700s, a long travel Rhino, and three dirt bikes, and with 120 gallons of fresh water in the tanks, 60 gallons of gasoline in the pump station tanks, and a weeks worth of camping gear, cloathing, and food, this little ole trailer weighs in at just a few pounds less than 17,000 lbs.  The truck tows it just fine.  I set the cruise control at 65 mph, and it stays there.  Of course, it only gets 9 mpg while doing so.

I got a pic of the truck I drive for work sometimes. It aint loaded tho.

The truck is about 1,300 HP. I can pull onto the highway with about 40tons on the trailer and get up to 55mph in less than a mile.

Can ya beat that?? BTW Those trailers are custom made. We build them ourselves at work

i am in mexico right now so i can get the pics but when I get home I will.

We ruegularily have over a 40K GCVW with our farms two Duramaxes. Yes its not the safest and yes its hard on stuff but the stuff has to get moved.

The only mods are to the 02 max and it has an edge Juice with attitude to help get things moving.

have any of u ever seen a semi hauling a train??? we have hauled three at three differant times that is. if i can get my scaner 2 work i will post them on here. i am not 4 sure how 2 do this so bare with me. the only thing we pulled off was the wheels. our truck and trailer is custom built. double framed both truck and trailer. we specialized in super heavy hauling. this is no BS

I don't know how to load the picture straight into the post but that is a direct link. Trailer is about 4,000lb 28' GN The bailer probably weighs 3,000lb plus a full bail in it at about 1,000lbs and then I would geuss the tractor weighs abuot 8,000lbs. So that would be about 16,000lbs, and the truck weighs 7,500lbs with a full tank.

Amen stoping is a problem.  Weve been through  sets of brakes on our 02 and 4 sets on the gooseneck.  The trans is gone too. Might have something to do with the 40K in tow.

We run the edge on 3. Best safe power, and best fuel economy.

But all this overloading might finally slo down as we just bought a semi.

Some electronic crap on the turbo messed up so the computer wouldnt let it go fast enough to drive to the dealer to fix.

Its a gyrotrac High flow cutter. It works great if your machine is big enough.

Its fun pulling in mud... I was backing up to load some trees on a gooseneck and was spining in 4x4.. then we loaded it down and all **** broke loose, threw mud over the whole **** trailer but i made it. and if someone throws mud on my truck at mudfest they better be ready to be broadsided by a rincon.

our work trucks weight in between 19-20 000 lbs. 32 foot gooseneck, bobcat or case 580 super m back hoe, plus usually a few thousand lbs more of junk.  Prob in total pushing 35-40 000lbs any given day.  08 dodge 4500, and one 5500 cab+chassis with picker, large tooleboxes, and huge decks.  All the trucks with the 6.7l get about 4-6mpg, pulling heavy as low as 3 I have seen.  Lots of weight, but they seem to handle it pretty well!

our work trucks weight in between 19-20 000 lbs.

If you are seriously pulling that much weight you need to be using a small semi, and if you are getting that low of a MPG you must be having to run 2750rpm's the entire time or something.
