i posted this in honda but im not gettin nothin back maybe yall can help me.

ok i need to get this bike ready by the end of the month but i dont kno wut to do. every thing keeps goin wrong it seems like. i snorkeled it, k&n air filter and a hmf utility series exhaust. well it wasnt really runnin that great and but the snorkel was suckin in air pretty good. well i jetted it like it was recommended. well actually i got it professionaly done and they told me i picked up some more power but i havent got a change to run it cuz when i picked it up i had to go out of town to work. well i just got back from work and i ran it today and i actually feel like i lost some power i dont kno wut the deal is but thats wut it feels like its doin and the snorkel dont suck in air like it used to. wuts the deal here. any help would be great.

also a spark arrestor in backwards would that have ne thing to do with power loss i dont kno if mines in backwards or not cuz ive seen em in both ways before

Is there anything blocking the snorkals. It sounds like you are really rich. What color is the plug. My bet would be black and wet. You need to go smaller on your jets.

I don't have any experiance with the exhaust but your a/f ratio seems spot on. Im not sure how the direction of the spart arrestor would play in effect because anything it would do would change you jetting and you would be back at square one. I would say either way is going to give you the same effect. Is it possible you didn't get as much power as you were hoping for? Alot of the "difference" would depend on how bad you were off before.

well depending on how ur snorkel is it is very possible to have less power if its real restricted then u will not get as much air and to compensate for that u have to give it less fuel so in turn less fuel and air in the cylinder means less power now if it was lean before u got it jetted then ur getting more air so therefore can give it more fuel to give it more power

it was runnin rich before i jetted it and i dont kno if im quite understanding wut your sayin i put a new plug in it yesterday and ran it last night for a while on a trail ride then when i got home i pulled the plug and its was like a light tan and had a spot on there that was paper brown so i take it its right correct? and also im gettin less suction into my snorkel but when i close it with my hand it dies almost immediatly versus to before was suckin in a lot of air and takin 10 seconds to die so i dont kno if its just not understanding wut your sayin or wut the deal is but i dont kno

yes paper brown is dead on and if it was running rich before u got it jetted means ur getting less air the the stock snorkel and what should of been done was try and redo ur snorkel either go up a size or try and make less bends in it to where it was running lean that way u could give it more fuel and in turn give it more power and if ur snorkel is air tight like it should be it should die immediately
