I would think it was the belt slipping. Unfamiliar with the 450's though. My buddy has a polaris and if he gets in the thick stuff his belt slips & doesnt turn the wheels but he has noticable smoke. If my clutch weights are dirty & need service it will not spin my tires in high if I get boggy.
