hey guys i have an 08 450 grizz and i have 26 gators well i was in a bad mud hole pure mud i was going fine then i heard a highpitched noise coming from my trans and the tires werrent moving so i stopped had my buddy winch me out and let it set it felt like the belt was really hot well we let it set for awhile and we rode back to the truck never heard the noise again. i was wondering what might have happened tomorrow were gonna regrease it cuse ive had water in the trans so thought maybe you could give me some things to look for so i can fix it thanx

I would think it was the belt slipping. Unfamiliar with the 450's though. My buddy has a polaris and if he gets in the thick stuff his belt slips & doesnt turn the wheels but he has noticable smoke. If my clutch weights are dirty & need service it will not spin my tires in high if I get boggy.

Were you in "High" gear?  If you were, then it sounds like your belt got hot and slipped.

Belt slippage is all....Hope you didnt fry it to the point of needing a new one
