ok well a dude i work with just got himself a brand new nissan titan and was talking stuff about how fast it was well i said if you such a big boy ill race you. i knew his truck stock was faster than mine(08 Z71) well we just raced after work and he got me by around 2 car links TWICE. i already have a throttle body spacer, single flowmaster 40 exhaust, and k&n filter. but i cant have this happening so how yall think this will do for my truck?

its runs for around $300 only question will this void my warrenty and is it worth the money on a gas burning 5.3? i know it does alot on a diesel but what a bout a gasser

It will give you nothing compared to a diesel.  25HP tops.  I wouldn't pay $300 dollars just to beat a stock nissan titan that everybod knows will run.

Get a custom tune. That way you can put your stock ECM back in for warranty work if they can still do it for the 08's. Try these two for a custom tune.

make sure you even things up and tell him about uprev/osiris for the titans, if you get a custom tune.  Then he will be winning by 3 lengths. lol Oh yea and they have an economy tune that gives our titans an increase of 3mpg on average.  Pays for itself in no time.

hey atleast you didnt race this one, high 12's NA (no nos, no turbo, no supercharger, all engine baby).
http://youtube.com/watch?v=g8qlKYFTAx8

Just out of curiosty what year was the titan? The 06's and older or slower than the 07 and newer models.

He is running a 125 shot of nitrous look at the vid description. I sure hope he has a different rear axle then what came from the factory or he will be making a mess on the track pretty soon with that converter and power.

If you're going to spend $300 bucks then go with a custom tune. Same cost but a lot more bang for your buck.

no hes not, if you read some titans boards, he hasnt got new valve springs yet for his cam.  This means he had a rev limiter set in his tune so he wouldnt ruin the stock vavles.  He was pinging of the limiter in the end on just motor so their is no way in **** he was going to hit the nos.  If you really care you can read up on it here:
http://www.clubtitan.org/forums/showthread.php?t=49307

About the rearend its all stock except for a detroit tru trac which replaces the weak spider gears that are known to fail.

Actually i agree with you to an extent. I used to think they were really ugly too.  Even thought they were ugly when i bought mine but at the time no truck could even come close to competing, not even the 6.0.  Now i have one i think it looks awesome especially compared to the newer trucks coming out like the new dodge, chevy, tundra, and even the new 09 ford.  So i guess you could say they grew on me.

there is an old pic of mine, i need to get a new one.   I have about 3" more of lift now, go dominator step bars, and bushwacker pocket style fender flares.

of course mines really slow because of the lift and tires,  actually its a little faster than stock speed with my uprev tune, CAI, and exhaust.  If someone would just come out with a set of gears, i could be runnin with the big boys again.  She will run a 15 flat with no weight reductions and my 35s.  If i take the 35's off and put the stock 33's on she will run a 14.2

Westers or Wheatley custom tune is the way to go on the NNBS trucks IMO.

if you have $$$, get exhaust and CAI with the tune so it can be tuned for them.

Ok I'm kinda impressed now, but no I don't really care all that much lol. I think they are better looking then the Tundras by a good margin but not better then the Dodges or Fords. If you want a fast truck get a Ram SRT-10 or a Lightning/Rouscharged F-150 imo, if you sank the kinda cash he had to spend to get that Titan that fast on a SRT-10 or a Lightning he would be in the high to mid 11s with the SRT and mid to low 12s with the Lightning. Your truck looks great by the way.

yea but it wouldnt be nearly impressive, most people expect lightings and srt-10's to be that fast.  But most dont expect a titan to run circles around alot of modded muscle cars.  Thats what makes it soo cool.

Yea thats what I like about going to mud bogs and 4wd shows with my Dakota, nobody expects me to be able to get through the mud pit at all  when I pull up but then I get the Boggers out of the back of the truck and kick some A$$!

I think that would've made the closest race possible with my old 04' N/A 5.3L Silverado! I pretty much had the exact same mods (I had a 3000 stall and no traction bars, I had better tires though) and ran mid-high 12's.

He may be smiling when he beats you in a race, but I bet you are smiling when you pass him filling up at the pump.  Thats the one thing that keeps me from getting a Titan.  They get crap mileage.

I was looking at the titans with my brother at the local dealership, cause there making really good deals on them, but the sticker shows 12mpg city, 17 hwy, thats horrible. what are yall getting?

It really depends on how you drive and what configuration the truck is.  I could squeeze out 19mpg stock if i cruised at 62 mph on the hwy and i have an LE CC cab which is the heaviest model and i have big tow, which gives me equivalent to 4.10 gears.  Now if i drove normal on the hwy 80mph i would get 16.7. But the 2wd SE king cab models i have seen people squeeze out 23.  The reason why the numbers on the sticker is so low is because of a new law that makes manufacturers push the trucks harder in the test to get a more accurate mpg rating.  So its not like it used to be when they had 20 on the sticker for hwy but realistically you would get 17.  Now they show 17 and you really do get 17.  I hope that made since...lol
