the stockers on thundercats suck which i'm sure everyone that owns one knows that. i like to keep 2 sets of tires n rims for different riden. i wanna set of swamp lites n edls.

how does the swamp lights handle high speeds 70+mph. wont do it all the time but dont want somethin that will come apart at that kinda speed.

also i got two sets of rims n dont know which tiresb to put on what rims. the stock rims and a set of grey steel high lifter rims. what yall think?

if your considering swamplites, I'm assuming your not looking for a pure mud tire. If you want something stable at high speeds and a good all around tire, check out those new MSA tires. There is a thread in the tire section about them

I run 26 in terracross tire and love them. i had a set of swamplites on the can am that i traded in for the t-cat and personally i think the terracross is just a little better tire.

What size mud tire are you looking for? if you go bigger than stock you will not have to worry about hitting 70+ cause its not going to happen..i have 30inch backs on my Tpuss and stock gears trust me 70+ is not happinning..not trying to start a my bike is faster than your bike thread just speaking from experiance..peace..

Our MST runs smooth and straight as an arrow at high speeds. The Swamplite tend to wander around a bit and wear fairly quick on hardpack.

As far as the speed tire no its not a pure mud tire. Want it to hook comen off the line and handle at high speed. The edls are gonna be my mud tires. Those will barely see 35. Might have to look into the MST or terracross tires

but how do the msts handle and hold together at 70+? and the same with the terracross? i wont be that fast very often but i will sometimes while racen and want to know when i do i dont have to worry bout problems with tires. also how do both tires hook off the line on hard pac? i will be gettin these tires in a 25 or 26. more than likely a 25. want stock size so i can keep speed. bought it for speed and power. little mud but mostly to have a sleeper so i can wax those sport bikes.

terracross are great but my quad only go to about 76 now with them on compared to stocks. but they are a great overall tire and honestly drag race more that go mudding now. but they are great for some mud too.

The MST seems to hold up fine at any speed to my best knowledge. They hook up great on hardpack. Also they are a true 25 inches tall, the front is 9 inches wide and the back is 11 inches. Most 25 inch tire are 8 and 10 inches wide. They also have a flatter type profile than most ATV tires.

I would think the only people that could really answer this are the tire manufacturers. This scenario will happen one day:

Mud tire (probably doesn't even matter if it is a mud tire), what ever size, bike at 70 or 80 mph, tire blows apart and someone dies. Who will be held liable?

I wonder when the manufacturers start making ones with a speed rating?

I personally like the GBC Grim reaper for a high speed fairly agressive trail tire, not mud

You can do a SEARCH under Grim Reaper and find my evaluation write up on them.

Terracross  typically bounce and wander at speed, I have had 2 sets and about 50
miles per hour was all you could hang on to without feeling that the machine was
going to bounce off the road.  With Arctic Cat rims I could not find anyone to
balance the tires as the Cat rims have no center hole and cannot be put on a
balancing machine.  So If you buy aftermarket rims that have a center hole
you can balance any tire you buy and it will probably run smooth. I went with
the ITP 212 rim and after balancing the Grim Reapers are able to run 80 on the
Speedometer which is about 83.5 considering that the tires are 26" and the speedometer
is set up for 25" tires.

Let us know what you decide and how they test out.
