I test drove the eiger (kk400) foot shift and auto, the kk450 auto and the 400 big bear.  I like liked the eiger as much as the big bear, but the eiger has no dif lock.  Is anyone adding dif lock to these?

honestly,
there are few times where a diff lock would work much better than the limited slip these have, as mine will spin all four by tapping the front brake
depends what you are going to do with it

are you planning on purchasing or just looking around??

not to stear you away from the 400...........but if you get a chance to test drive a vinson..........YOU REALLY NEED TO!!  the eiger is a kick butt bike too, don't get me wrong, but for the price of a new vinson it's hard not to bump up a step.

They didn't have any footshift vinsons, and not sure if vinson has dif lock.  I see the eiger locker is $350 - not bad.  big bears (2009) running $1200 more than eiger (2008) - ouch!  Throw in 4 mud tires difference is $800, throw in diflock difference is $450.

i think that the eiger and vinson have the same limited slip set up.  IF it is, then i think you'll be good to go!  i have rarely had problems with my front coming unlocked.  a couple times it has come unlocked a quick tap of the brake and it brings it right back into locked!

but you can always weigh the different options of the other brands, there might be one tghat fits you better.

YES!  the locker isn't like the other models where the locker is "selectable".

i got the eiger because of a few reasons including the reliability as far as the engine goes, I also like the straight rear axle because of it's better overall ride quality, and also because i preferred the ride quality of the eiger over the big bears ive ridden.
