does anyone know if removing the thermostat will help it run cooler?

I removed my thermostat and my bike runs alot cooler.  If you do a search they have a thread of a part number to get and put in place of the t-stat to restrict the flow a little bit.

ya i remember reading something on that a while back but had no luck finding that post again. if anyone knows where that post is can you please post it here thanks.
