the temp light comes on my 450 rhino after you ride it for a while and it pushes water out of the over flow contanier. My fan is not running when the light is on should it be and what would cause this to keep happening? this rhino is not rode hard at all. it only has 440miles on it and most of them are from riding on the paved roads in the subdivision. Is there a fuse or a relay on the fan what is suppost to make the fan kick off and on. is there a sensor some where. If anyone has any answers please let me now so i can fix it. thanks

you should probly steam clean the radiator real good -- if you cant see light through it -it's probly stopped up with mud/dirt -so try that and make sure its full of coolant

I have had the same problem but mine was full of mud. I took the radiator out and cleaned it real good with hot water. as far as the fan Im as lost as you.

I have a 00 kodiak 400. I know its totally different but it seems on the Yamaha 400/450 the fan doesnt run that much. I had a water pump go out on the Kodiak and the red light came on but the fan wouldnt run. I thought at first it was the fan bc on the Grizz, when it gets hot, it comes on, which is alot.

Another thing to check since the water is boiling is the thermostat and make sure you dont have air in the lines. You can check the fan by jumping out the wires to make sure it works but I m not sure without searching on how to do this.

your fan should be running if the light is on. check in the batt. box the fuses and relays are in there.

Rewire that sucker,run it through i toggle swich w/ a high lifter temp. gauge, a fuse and let it eat,thats what i did on the brute force

U need to direct wire the fan. That was a problem on the Grizz 660's when they first came out. I even think HL sells a relay or something along those lines that may work on the 450

thanks for the help, one of the wires on the connector clamp was pulled out were it hooks to the fan
