Okay, well everyone on here is always talkin bout strobes I want some!  I built an audiopipe which everybody was ranting and raving about it was nice.  So i want some strobes, Id REALLY like to get them from autozone and not spend alot of money on them...can comebody describe how you wire them up, and the ones i want dont have to be 100% waterproff just do the trick and not tear up too quick, basically, where can i get the okay and cheap, and how do you install them, and what kind of money am i looking at spending, THANKS YALL!!

wiring them up depends on which type you get.  You can get self-contained strobes like ones from Whelen.  These have the flashing circuit built inside.  The other type uses a central flasher box which all the simple strobes get wired up to.

The wonderful thing about adding things to your bike is you do it how you feel it would work best. I have pics in my sig of my strobe install, feel free to check it out.

i'm using the AXIXTech SLED04 strobes, great units, $60 each, I made them hidden with a mount I made, you just need a on/off switch and a momentary on switch to control the flash patterns, here they are:

Do strobes drain the battery a lot? The ones you have Elkbow, are they really hard to wire? Is it hard to wire up the on/off and momentary on switches? Do the strobes you bought come with the switches? Sorry to ask so many questions but Im kind of interested in gettin some strobes and I really like the ones you have Elkbow.

The kit I got didn't come with switches but I wouldn't have used the switches that could have come the kit if I opted for them. The momentary for mine is in my rear box and I mounted it to the power supply and the power switch is on the pod and it's a waterproof Otto switch.

ok, to answer all the questions:

350rancherboy, the red box near my throttle is the controller for my heated grips and thumb warmer, made by swisher, call the Winter Pac

420RancherInTheMud, the strobes do not come with switches, they are easy to wire up, there is power, ground, sync wires that you wire together to sync all strobes and then the connection to switch patterns.  Switches are cheap, however I used a Otto submersible Rocker switch for power, the momentary switch used to switch patterns is just a cheapy I bought on ebay

cowboycq, here is where I got the stobes:

http://www.nwpublicsafetysupply.com/AXIXTECH-SLED04-LED-LX4_p_0-27.html

pinemtnbrute, the strobes are waterproof, i spray them down when washing and have run them through water

i have two

as far as switches, waterproof switches are the best, for the rocker switch i'm using an Otto, but they are hard to get, for the momentary switch i'm using a cheapo switch, can get switches at alot of places, like radio shack which i never go to, most electronic places will have them

the strobes just come as a unit with a bunch of wires sticking out of them, you have to wire them up to the switches

As much as I'd love to load the front of mine up with flashing strobes...I can't justify spending several hundred dollars on it.
I'd rather spend the cash on other mods.

Well...I'm talking about headlight strobes and a couple sets of red/blue flashers.
I know they get expensive when you have multiple sets.
I'll eventually splurge and just get a set of headlight strobes...probably in green just to be different.

I've got HID lights, $80 shipped to my door, so no strobes are going in the headlights, to me that don't look that good anyways, and the HIDs are probably at least 5 times brighter than stock lights and take less current

not sure how much they are, heard they don't cost much, something like $24.99, so you can get them for cheap and switches are cheap

yes these are the autozone strobes. and the colors it came with are clear which is what is in it and blue red green and purple. it took me about 2 hours to do this b/c i had to take the whole headlight assembly apart and there is like a plug thing on the back of my headlight that i just drilled bigger then cleaned out the lens from all the plastic shavings n then stuffed the strobe in there it was a tight fit i had to rub a little spit on it to get it in there all the way.. but i have some whelen tir3`s on the way i bought them from VLS Vehical lighting solutions. cheapest place i found for the tir3`s i got 2 of them and a dual mounting bracket for 129

I've seen wigwags on headlights, the box costs between 20 and 40 bucks.  The only downside is your bulbs won't last as long.
