find atvtech in the honda forum, he will have all necessary honda info, gaps, compression lbs, etc but ring position should be on the new piston and if i remember correctly it has 5 rings total 1 oil ring with two keepers, and two compression rings, the compression ring gaps should go one to the left of bike and one to the right of bike the oil ring split should go to the rear and the keeper rings make a y facing forward, one toward front right wheel and the other to the front left wheel drop one new ring into the cylinder before proceding and use a gap tool to find the ring clearance, that will tell you right off if your cylinder is ok, and look for gaps behind the ring to tell if cylider is out of round or egg shaped, but since you have swamped it multiple times, im guessing you are getting an overbore, while you are doing that split the cases and clean em, not just a little bit, but completely clean every little spot or youll be back in there again soon, hondas are notorious for holding mud, and order a new oil cooler too, those hold mud
