well i was in the process of preloadin the spring when the nut on the bottom came off( i guess me turnin it trin to get the ring off got it loose and after a few turns on the wrench it came off). and boom the thread rod went about 15 ft in the air and the hilex flew about 10 ft from the work bench. i have found everythin but the retainin ring. can i just go by the local parts store and pick one up? i just wanted to let every one know to watch out this spring is compressed bad.

thats where i would check, and maybe a hardwhare store if they dont have one..

it sucks cause that was a big mistake. i couldnt find a clip that was wide enough or thick enough. so i call every AC dealer i had a number for. and no one had a clue on what the sed. mod or the clip part number. so i called STEEL HORSES and talked to chase and he hooked me up. he read my post on here and all i had to say was i lost the clip and he picked me out. but the bad luck is that u have to order a hole new clutch. but l lucked up agian when they had a used one. so this could be a lucky and unlucky day. once agian thanks STEEL HORSES yal are the best
