i thought other guys where using 1.5" pipe and not having trouble?  i don't see why it would cause it to run rough.  if anything, it'd probably run rich and you wouldn't notice any ill effects for a while.  and if you've got a 400, it doesn't need as much air as the 800, which is what most snorkel write ups are about.

someone who knows more is sure to chime in, though.

does it seem slower getting to 21 mph?  try running it with the air box lid off and see what happens.  when installing the snorkel, something else may have happened.

PS, if you ever head up to 5A, shoot me a PM.  i'm out there every other weekend

its carb, and the connection is a rubber coupling that goes from 1.5-2" with another rubber piece over the 2"  and then the rest of the rubber piece is streched over the stock intake, gimmie 10 mis i can have a pic of it

Carb bikes Must be jetted properly once it is snorkled. Some can adjust them enough with the same jets to make it run good. The engine is now getting the same amount of fuel it needed with a short air intake pipe, and is sucking thru a straw (snorkel) , which causes it to flood out and run rich. If the needle valve has notches on it ,try raising the e-clip one notch at a time to get it working better, then adjust the  mixture screw (not idle screw)  in to lean it out some.

^^^ yup.  and if you can, bump the piping up to 2".  less air + same fuel = running rich.  less air + less fuel = less power, but running normal.  same air + same fuel = normal power and running well.
