What size pipe did you use? You should be able to get away with just adjusting the a/f screw. How does the plug look?

And for the record the stock needle doesn't have notches in it, you can only adjust it by adding washers to it. If you have a Dynojet or other brand jet kit it comes with a adjustable needle.
