please help!!!!!!!i was changing my rear pads and didn't know the piston screwed in, not press in. i think i might have messed something up. i put a c clamp on it and realy reamed on it. the piston went in a little, but not as far as i need to get the new pads in. i can spin the piston but nothing hapends. i can't pull the piston out.... it is realy stuck. ( i feal like a jack **** ) please help.....

DONT FEEL BAD BRO I DID THE EXACT SAME THING JUST LAST WEEK, I SCREWED UP THE THREADS ON THE PISTON AND HAD TO ORDER A NEW PISTON, HOPE IT FIXES THE PROBLEM, I WOULD JUST TAKE SOME CHANNEL LOCKS AND PULL THE PISTON OUT CAUSE MORE THAN LIKELY YOU WILL HAVE TO REPLACE IT, GOOD TO KNOW IT HAPPENED TO SOME 1 ELSE NOW I DONT FEEL SO STUPID!!! LOL

Try pumping the brake and see if the piston will blow back out.....The first time I changed my brakes did the same thing I thought I striped it out but when I pumped the back if pushed out and I did it right lol

i'll try hook it it back up and pump the piston back out.... i never thought of doing that... thanks guys, i'll let ya know how she goes..

that was my problem.... i pumped up the presher in the break line and the piston popped out.... the piston and "bolt" was stripped out. i have a new one on order. . i learned my lesson :) LOL

If you ride in lots of mud/water, just remove the whole darn thing.Zip tie the hoses and cable from e brake and place a bolt in the resovoir that runs to the back. They do not last long at all where we ride, ad that aweful racquet they make. Keep the fronts in good shape though.

Removing it doesnt effect the braking? if it dont thats what im gonna do who needs a park brake anyways!

How can it affect breaking when after 2 rides there metal to metal.But yes, it will not stop like new pads all the wall around,stops pretty good though and I save lots of bucks and time swapping them out.

Your rite about the bucks, i almosted started cryin when i paid for my brakes 125$, pure bs if you ask me shouldnt cost that much IMO

My whole rear caliper and all is laying around somewhere in the basement, simply not needed anymore.

I got the piston in today and got it back together, works for now but next time the brakes go out im gonna remove the whole stupid thing, i didnt this time cause i had already bought brakes and ordered the new piston.
