i've never had to, but try using a grinder with a wire wheel, or a drill with a wire wheel.

If you have access to media blasting, try it. Unlike sandblasting, you can use many other abrasive blasting media from steel shot and plastics to walnut grit. Any professional blasting shop should be able to take care of you.

Get one of those 60 grit flap disks.  Those things will eat through metal.  So I'm sure it could handle some powdercoat.

as funny as this is about to sound......aircraft grade paint stripper. It works great. You still have to "convience" it a little but that worked better than anything else Ive tried.

This does work great. Let it sit on the part for a little while and it should wipe right off. You might need to do it more than once. You can get it at most auto parts stores. Just make sure you use thick rubber gloves because it does burn.

but FYI in the future if needed......it doesn't work on anodized parts......wont budge it.

that's because anodizing isn't a paint.  what anodizing does is etch/oxidize the outer few ten-thousandth of the surface which leaves a matrix which will absorb a die.  The only way to remove anodizing is with a grinder.

If you have acsess to an engine burn oven (most engine rebuilders have one), you can bake it at 900 degrees overnight. This will break down the bonding agents in the powdercoating and it will fall right off.
If there is any remaining you can either sandblast or powerwash. I used a wilobrater (media blaster) for 5 min.

tried the permatex gasket remover and it worked pretty good. just burns if you get it on you but it bubbled the powdercoat up and i pressure washed it off. few more pieces and then some new powder for the monkey lift
