i have to buy a new rear caliper for my 07 500 i was wondering if could just cap off the rear brake lines and do away with the whole thing because a new rear caliper is like 200 bucks aint that ridiculous. would capping them off put to much pressure on the front brakes.

Whats wrong with the caliper?? Are you sure it need a caliper?? Is it operational with the hand brake??? The rear POPO brakes (foot brake hydraulic circuit) is notorious for getting air in the system, have you "vacuum bled" both hydraulic circuits???
