Well you could take the joint out of the inner cup and put a 2x4 board over that inner cup and whack it with a hammer I geuss.

You will need to remove one mounting bolt from the shock so you can swing it out of the way.  Put the axle nut on the other end to protect the threads, line up the splines in the diff with axle, make sure the axle is straight and tap the end with hammer, prefferably a brass hammer or a deadblow.  I use a brass hammer.  A few good licks and it should start.  Keep tapping on it until it seats fully.  The fun part is getting them back out.

You need to take the shocks off so you can hit them straight.  I made a piece out of black pipe to slide over the end of the axle so it wont mess up the threads and hit it good with a small sledge hammer.  the inner joint needs to be perfectly straight and the clip must be centered good before trying to knock it in.

What they said. You have to get the axle perfectly straight to drive it in.

we wacked it good and it finally seated.

What I want to know is how you got 2 axles instead of a rebuild.  I tore a boot last weekend, got it all fixed up, but I'd rather have a new axle.

Yea, I just put my new ones in, I had to use a 3lb sledge and move the upper control arm up, it was a little tough, I don't even want to think about getting them out, the stockers were hard enough to get out

I dont have a clue how she did it, she says she didnt , she only asked how long for a rebuild and where to send em, on piece of one was original, the rest was new, axle bars, boots, bearings cups etc, they went out of warranty in may of this year
she will be calling from now on thats for sure
