i bought my truck not to long ago, and the guy programmed it and kept the programmer, what good itll do him im not sure. but im getting a hypertech programmer soon, if i install it will it delete the programmer in it already? or what?

Good question, I've never tried that. But if it already has a programmer installed on it why waste your money on a different brand programmer.

hypertec is probably the worst programmer out their for your truck. I would get a new ecm or yours flashed to stock by a dealer and get a cutom tune, if not a wati4me perf tune

I second the custom tune, programmers are overrated in any truck imo. The only reason I've got one in mine is to raise the rev limiter and correct the spedometer for the 35s I got on it, it made the trans shift a little quicker too that was nice.

you either send your PCM off or let the company tuning it send you a new one.

You specify what you want out of it.
here is mine pretty much...
75% torque management removed.
6K WOT shift points
87-89 octane
And then specify any mods you have or plan to get soon.

There is more stuff you will need to send to the guy but thats the basic stuff I remember.

I definitely felt a difference. got Vette servo's installed at the same time.
