i hooked it all up. pyramid 240 amp with polk 6.5 360w speakers and when set up and playing it "domps". (might i add extremely loud and crisp, aside from the domp sound, louder than i thought)

hits like bass but when the bass isnt even hitting. its a constant "domp domp domp domp" the sound is clear and the highs are great though but that sound bugs me. its almost like its hitting inward.

the tube isnt conected yet i just hooked it up and was going to test everything b 4 i sealed it up.

i have it hooked to a power converter. goes from a wall socket to a cig lighter plug. could that be part of the problem? nothings hardwired to the atv just to a cig plug. could it be the ground? i dunno i just need some thoughts. i know it can be done as i have seen i just dont know what i couldve done. its got to be something simple.

thanks for any and all help.

Sounds like maybe a ground issue, You may need to turn the gain down a little on your amp to about 50-75%  Sometimes when cranked up it can cause feedback!  I haven't used the pyramid amp in my setup so not for sure.

Also the power inverter may not be strong enough so go ahead and hook up to your atv and see if you are getting the same problem.  You may not be getting enough juice to your amp!

adjust the amp, there is a gain screw and one for bass and treble, start by lowering the bass

A quads power system is grossly under rated for a power amp, truthfully there is no realy good way to get that kinda power from the quad, a small 100watt amp can easly take over 20 amps for bass hits. useing wire that is too small will also starve the amp for current and you may get all kinds of random whomp whop from the system. Cables must be fed directly to the battery, or to your external powersupply with heavy gauge wire
not knowing the model of the amp, or power supply this is just a shot in the dark

Also a good thing to get when you have a smaller battery for a sound system is a capacitor.  It just holds a charge for the amplifier so power is right there versus running back and fourth to the battery.  Also to check if your speakers are in-phase (speaker popping out) or out-of-phase (speaker popping in) is to attach a 9 volt to the speaker (via speaker wires).  Connect the wires to the speaker and one at-a-time tap the wire from the speaker to the positive end of the battery and the speaker should push out, if it pushes in the wire your holding is the negative one.
