i was wondering what woulding give me the most power out of my 97 4x4 300. thanks

i got bbk, cam, port and polished head, 400ex carb, gear reduction, custom moded 300ex fmf full exhaust system, clutch kit and a uni filter and i sling 30'' mudzilla's like nobodys buisness

power?
376 kit, 102 or 459 cam, pipe/filter/jet, oil cooler...

tire turning?
gear reduction, + mods above.

Hey xtremerancher02 any mods necesary to put a 400ex carb on a trx 300fw or will it bolt right up?

i dont know if they have a jet size small enough to let it run right and not rich?

they bolt up but you need the 400ex throttle cable and will haveto dent your gas tak

why would they not have one small enough if ur running a bbk then you are just about the same displacement as a factory ex so it would be close not saying that it might be a little trick to find where to start at on jetting but it shouldn't be a problem getting it jetted right though

he never said anything about a BBK, he just asked if it would fit or work.


factory bore with no mods, im doubtful that he could get a small enough main to get the air fule ratio right.

lol - shouldn't if tuned properly. - I agree that a stock bore bike doesn't need a 400 carb, I would tend to believe that it would hurt performance. To big of as carb looses throttle response and is very hard to tune a/f ratio through out the power curve.  - BBK? now you may be able to use that larger carb.
