I have a 2007 outlander and went riding  this past sunday, and bike started running like crap. The bike idels fine but as soon as u give it any gas it starts to die. After letting it sit for a little while it will run fine for about 2 or 3 minutes then start missing again. Its seems like a fuel problem but not sure where to start, any suggestions would help or where should i start. Thanks stephen

Its not very hard to get to the fuel filter, its on the frame just in front of the fuel tank on the right hand side.  My guess would be mud in the fuel tank.  We have already had five bikes suck in mud from the fuel tank vent line.  It doesn't take long to pull the tank and clean the screen on the bottom of the fuel pump, but make sure to remove the "Y" fiting and route the vent line higher after cleaning the tank.

i have a 07 5oo xt outlander and mine was doing the same thing since i bought it.  it was the crankcase sensor.  I brought it back to the dealership and they put in on the diagnostic machine.  the sensor had fire off 61 times.  they changed the sensor and i havent had a problem since.

My bike did the exact thing.  I rode in water since the day I got my bike but it took a while to start acting up.  It would idle fine then when I hit the throttle it would sputter and die out.  I pulled the gas tank, cleaned it, the fuel pump and filter and it ran perfect after.  Check your filter first and if you see any signs of trash I would pull the tank and fuel pump.
