The only way a Foreman will make it through deep peanut-butter type mud is to have a strong engine, no locker, and tires 27" tall or smaller.  The locker will help with traction, but it will absolutely kill the power in thick sticky mud.  28" tires or larger will really bog it down as well.

I'll agree with that. 27's seem to be a ggod size for the foreman, not just because of the power either. when I run my EDL's, it sure seems like I go through bearings/tie rod ends and brake pads a lot quicker.

LOL!  You ain't foolin' nobody!  We all know a Foreman will grind to a halt in peanut butter mud with 29.5's or larger!  Might as well call a tow truck, that's the only way you're getting it out!

Been there, done that, and got the tow truck bill! LOL!  I've been to Marengo and the Suicide Hole changes consitency every year.  Some years it's dry and sticky.  Some years it's nice and soupy.  Peanut-butter mud is like clay mixed with just a little bit of water.  It sticks to everything and feels like cement.

And I bought 29.5" Laws from a guy with a Foreman 500 because he couldn't spin them.  He went back to 28x10 Laws.

well I don't have any pics or proof of it but I was cruising a trail over @ CCC in georgetown, MS one evening and just happened up on a small little spot on the side of the trail that looked to be pretty hard... well I bailed off in it.... the bike never bogged but it did however bottom out... I stopped put the bike in reverse... and nailed it... the clutches slipped a little but she got the tires spinning and slinging rooster tails.   This stuff was the equivelant of semi dried concrete or hot asphault.

and thats with no gear reduction and 31" outlaws.

I'm not trying to prove a point, just relaying my real life experiences.

One question for all of the guys that can spin big tires in thick mud:  are you using a locker?

i didnt then but the bike has a spool in the front now... I just havent gotten it back together with the gear reduction to try it.

considering I could sit on hard ground and nail it and walk the bike through 3rd gear I dun think I'ma have any trouble

I really wanted to read through this thread but the grammar and spelling on half of the posts make the majority of it incomprehensible.

All of my personal experiences on a Foreman 450 in peanut-butter mud are on a bike with a locker (spool first then switched to DGL).  It definitely robs power in the thick stuff.

peanut butter mud is even thicker than this.  When you come out, each tire has probably 50-70 lbs of mud stuck to it and it's stuck so many place in the frame that you can hardly see any part of the bike. LOL!

I have fallen off into alot of holes that are way too thick.  Back before the gear reduction just the 450 top end with the HC piston and some edl outlaw combo and paddles with a locker it would bog to a stop.  Mainly the paddles being WAY too big.  Now with the gear reduction my timing chain jumped time one tooth and it still was turning the edl's in thick mud.  It taks alot to turn big tire on a foreman and a locker makes so much of a difference it's crazy.

Riding wheelies on dry land is nothing compared to a deep thick hole.

Swamp_Monster has the first baddest foreman and had alot of personal experience with it.  If there is somebody that knows what a bike will do then there is the man!

I'll call that peanut-butter mud! LOL!  But, like I said earlier, you don't have a locker, you have a strong motor (bigger than a stock Foreman) and you're running 27" tires.  From my experience on a Foreman, when you lock the front end and go up in tire size, the motor will bog down in that kind of mud.  I haven't tried with a gear reduction....yet! LOL!

I never ran 29.5s on my foreman, but with edls I never had any issues.  Course I had a bbk and cam.  I have also seen stock 500s bog to a stop with 27s.
