traded my 05 yfz 450 for my new 08 420, started with the 08 kingquud 400. didnt like it. (auto tranney!) took it back. bud ownes dealership. so trade for the 420 rancher manual shift. cant be more pleased with this machine. Put on venom winch 2500 already and plan on more mods in future. new to this site as well. here in western washington state there is some awsome wheelen. so A+ for honda! love the machine.

You will love it.

I have over 3,500 miles on my 07 420 and have had a blast on it.

I'm over in Eastern Washington and ride the Cascades as well as N Idaho. (Mostly snow riding)

Lots of great riding here in the PNW.

Congrats on the new 420, you will love it. Although it isn't quite as fast as what you traded for it, I imagine its a good bit more comfortable. Did you get a 4x4 or 2wd.

Green 4x4. love it! had it up to rackes already! LOL need snorkel next. been a sport rider for years. this is new to me. i scan this site often for tips! lots of info!

Oh yep your hooked lol, once you've been that deep your only going to want to go deeper lol. Theres lots of good info about making a snorkle on here just search for it, if you don't want to make one then there are a couple of bolt on choices that look good and do a great job. You got any idea of what you want to do to it mod wise?

Not yet. gonna keep it basic. tires, snorkel EXCT. i dont think this machine needs alot. tire wise i think 26"s would be just right. I trail ride alot to. so looken around for all type terrain tire. like i stated i SEARCH LOL!!! AND YES!!! IM SO HOOKED!! LOL! 41 years old an feelen like a kid!

Sweet man, glad to hear it.

I'd suggest you looking into the Highlifter MSTs and the ITP Mudlite XTRs, both are great trail tires that can hold their own in mud. There are a bunch of other choices though, If you are not wanting to change your wheels there are a couple of choices that can use the stock 11" rear wheel. The Vamps can be bought for 11" wheels and they trail good for a mud tire, also I think the Mud Bugs can be gotten for the 11" wheels and they are another good trail tire that can hold their own in mud.

Thanks for the info. yeah the mudbugs i think will fit my style. should have seen my partners faces when i was drifften the 420 around corners wide open like my 450! LOL!! they thought i was NUTS!! LOL! this 420 is a good all around machine. small with some power. looked at big bores. jesus! things are Monsteruos! But i know they have WAY MORE power though! its all good. to each there own. waiting for the snow to fly! cant wait!
