ive got an 03 foreman with mods in sig. lately within just a few minutes of ridin it gets pretty warm. not enough for the fan to kick on but feels unusual. second, it has a tickin at low rpm. from idle to about 1/8 throttle. it also has a "cough" sometimes in the same rpm range. is she gettin ready to die on me or can it be saved? and what might be causing these problems? thanks

adjust your valves, they are prob too tight on the ex. and too lose on the intake. check your oil pump chain (if your bike has one???) change your oil, if you have hydro lifters (again i don't know i have soild) they could be getting old and the spring is wearing out.

how hard is it to adjust the valves? if somebody could tell me how i could prolly do it. if i have to tear the motor down to do some of this i might just wait. ive got a bbk, gear reduction and stuff like that in the works. is there anything else i need to look for?

it is prob the valves, my rancher did the same thing. under the gas tank there should be two vavle covers. take them off and do the adjustment. you will need the factory specs.

its been tappin for a while now. if it was gonna mess it up i think it woulda done it by now. its been rode hard and put up wet quite a few times since it started all this. i guess if it tears up it'll give me a good reason to tear it down and do my upgrades!
