Welcome to the forum! I don't know the answer to your question but some one will chime in with an answer eventually. Highlifter is usually pretty slow on the weekends but wait and see how many people are on here during the week!

Did you take the pump off and clean it real well with maybe some carb cleaner? Did you put fresh gas and oil in it? Why would mixing your gas and oil gum up your carb? Isn't that all the pump does? It would be the same thing as the pump doing it for you...unless you got the mixture all wrong.

Running pre-mix in your gas tank won't hurt anything or gum up your carb.  Mix it at 40:1.  You should buy an oil pump block off kit from somewhere like HPD.  They're pretty cheap.  This way, you don't ever have to wonder if your oil pump is working or not.  If the bike set up for a while, it's very likely your carb is gummed up from gas sitting it.  Take your carb off and clean it up real good also.  While you're at it, you might as well put a new plug in it.  I think it takes an NKG BRE8ES.  Check with the guys on www.gen3usa.com they will tell you anything you need to know about it!

It's best to get rid of the oil pump on the 2 stroke polaris' they go out very often.  You can pick up a block off kit from several manufacturers, such as HSP, HPD, and aaen.  And when mixing your gas you can mix it anywhere between 32:1 to 40:1 as mentioned above.  And the carb is gummed up from the gas sitting in it so long, you need to take it apart and clean it out, mixing the gas in the gas tank doesn't affect that.
