does anyone make the aftermarket clutch kits for the 300 sportsman/hawkeye? or anything to bring up its performance beside an exhaust? also how bout gear reductions or things of that nature... i want a **** little mud bike... i got the lift built... i got the tires on the way... just want the performance and reliability to match...

i would start with a k&n airfilter and go with a dynajet jet kit and install 4 high elavation rollers in the clutch.these 3 things help the 300 out alot.

your dealer.only replace 4 of them, and my opion is that the 25x9 laws are about the max for the little bike.

ok who do you lift it that high, i need to know my wife is on my backside about getting some larger mudtires on her 06 hawkeye. she wants outlaws on it.
I pretty much worked out 90% of the bugs, and im working on more performance upgrades. but i dont have a clue on making it higher to fit 25" outlaws or 26" tires.
any good info and prices would be very much needed. plus that little red 300 looks great lifted.

part time your sons machine turned out nice. since i last chatted with ya. its now coming to that time of year that my wife stops riding for the winter and its the time that i will only get to do work on her machine and she down right told me after looking at these few pics of lifted hawkeye's and she just told me i better get hers done before next mud season comes around in the spring.

someting i see that should have been done to the red 1 is angled the rear back so it would get the tires away from the floor boards and would also stablize it more and i was thinking about doing that with just a 1.5" lift.

the best part about the little machine is its wheel base, I know first hand my wife on her little machine with worn out 25" mudlight at's she went in some deep holes and had to work for traction with less then 1/2 tread on the tires, well she got throw some nasty holes that some larger machines had a hard time getting throw, i know for a fact that putting the 25 inch outlaws on her machine, she will be able to get throw almost anything. I know the little lift kit your working on will incease more tire to fender cleance. even if you bring the rears back 1 inch thats all that would be needed to have good tire to floor board clearance. no matter what the setup you gots know will work just fine, just that you said your still working on the front setup. once thats done. I'll work with you on a price and time frame on getting a kit. all i think is needed 1.5 - 2 inch of lift.

ya this winter im gonna redo the rear i just hate how close the tire sits.... right now in the rear i built a bracket like a IFS lift for a pickup... it just drops the bottom arm (i woulda just lenghtened the arm but where the arm bolts up it keeps the CV joint from being able to angle down...) for the top arm i just made it 3"s longer each side... removed the stabilizer bar... and made a spacer for the top of the OEM shock... In the front i made the lower arm 3"s longer per side then made a drop bracket that bolts to the OEM strut and drops the spindles mounting point.... right now i just have the factory CV joints cut in half with a piece of pipe slipped over the ends and welded in... if i ever crawl off in anything to bad they will probably break so i'm looking for someone local that can build some for it... pretty much the same with the steering but with alittle angle so theres little change in how hard it is to steer...

i finally got my mudbugs in and it definitely looks mean... only thing that has got me was a creek down by the river and i made it probably 5 foot before i sank to the racks... had to get a Gin Pole truck from the company i work for to pull it out.... i had a z71 hooked to it that couldnt budge it... but in regular mud i got buddies with a grizzly and a rincon(with 27's) that now gets stuck in my ruts... i got video of it but my pc went down so when its fixed i'll upload them...

o and for moving the rear back i checked while i had mine apart and u can swap the lower arms (right to left and vice versa)to move it backwards and then just build a new upper arm and relocate the shock

after the lift and the tires i have like 17 or 18"s of ground clearance at the bottom of the floorboards...

I started to pull my wifes machine apart, and found that i can maybe get a sp400 tranny with lowrange/highrange to fit, dont know until i get this wrecked sp400 off the trailer and into the shop. to pull it aparts. it rolled down a hill as every thing is pretty much beat to ****. and broken. then only thing good is the tranny and maybe engine, if the engine is good. im going to trade it for a hawkeye/sp300 mill. so i can start on a Big Bore Kit and do some head work, with porting and some OS valves, and look into a cam grind for a stronger power band. My hopes are to build what polaris should have from day one.
