Im in the market for a mud bike.  I like the mud pros a whole lot.  Itll probably be what I buy.  My question is how much power should it have compared to a brute or a can am.  I know it will have plenty of power to turn any tire that I want, but Im wondering how the acceleration will be.  I want the sporty power of a brute, but I don't want the problems that go along with the brute.  Any help is appreciated.

The brute will probably out run it, but i think it would be interesting to compare the acceleration. I was considering gettin a brute my self, but i came to the conclusion that if you mud/water ride you will dunk it eventually. I know the cats can stand a few dunks, but i have dragged many brutes back to camp after they took a swim.

if youre used to the sporty bikes but you want a 4x4 with good acceleration you should check out the renegade, i dont think mud pros will have quick acceleration due to its a mud bike.

I have ridden a 650 h1 with 4.0s and the clutch set up right, it would not surprise my to see it keep up with a brute up until about 45-50 mph.

Well, I already have a quick bike.  I want a bad a$$ mud bike.  I just don't want it to be a snail like a honda utility.  If it isnt as fast as a brute, its fine, its a mud bike.  I just want it to have some sort of get up and go.  Ill still be riding while the brute is in the shop.  LOL  I also hear that the cats are easier to work on.  Appreciate the help. I love me some good feedback from owners rather than dealers.  There just trying to sale a bike.

once you get on a mp & pin it the brute will be a faded memory. mine's a mp done the old fashioned way, done by me. if there is a trail to small for you then you will make your own. itz a tank i say lol.

I rode a 700h1 with 3.6 gear in it and I was pleasently surprised at the accel on the straight-away with 29.5s.  Definately lots of throttle for a mud bike.  But who want to waste their big tires on 70mph roads? Ecspecaily if you have a 450R you can hop on anytime.
Really if you want that quick neck snap that you get from a brute right off the line the MP will be no slouch thats for sure, may not be technically faster, but its very comparable. and it can get wet right out the crate!

The best thing about it is you will not have to do anything to the MP but play hard and on a brute before you play hard you have alot of work to do to it first.

Yeah, like exkluesiv said, i have a 450r that i can go fast on.  I could really care less if my mud bike didn't have a 40 mph top speed.  Im not buying to race or anything, I just don't want it to be like the hondas ive been riding all of my life.  They're really boring once you ride a big bore automatic.  Im not the one to want to have the fastest mud bike or anything. I just want it to turn 29.5 (thats what im planning on running) if I want to, and it have a attitude while doing it.

If you plan on running 29.5's you will deff. be looking into some after market clutching on the brute. Even in low range, its hard not to smoke a belt on stock tires! Any of the H1's, regardless of being a 650 or 700h1 can easily turn them big ol tires with stock clutching. And the MP has many of them mods in stock form that most of the AC's out there!! Cant go wronge with the MP dude.... I get er!

Get a CAN-AM!!!

You can't go wrong with with an AC.  They are great trail bikes!  I am not sure how well the mudpro is going to hold up, I have only seen a few of them run at mud stock...but I bet they will do fine.  I have the pleasure of working on them everyday and rarely see any major issues.

Mud Pro or Brute..........Mud Pro all the way!!!

I was looking for a new bike as well,I researched alot of them but keep coming back to the MP. I had a 500m and loved it so I will probably be getting another cat. And they are easy to work on.

IMOP the clutching on a 650/700h1 with 4.0 gears and a good clutch kit is not to far off from the gears in a 500m but you just dont have to shift.
My low range is very low and engine brakeing is crazy strong it will stop going down a steep hill in 4wd low range.
closest thing you can get to the feel of a manual tranny is what i mean.

if you want power i will say the new m/p has a handfull, ive had mine for a almost a week now and the more i break it in the more powerfull its getting.
mud pro or brute??? ive had and ridden alot of differnt machines and im going out on a limb here but i think in a drag race this 700 m/p with the 28s i think will stay right beside a brute right to 50mph, its that quick and powerfull, i know i will probably get laughed at but here it goes anyway.
the m/p id say takes off out of the gate almost as hard as the tcat, believe it or not, i just had 2 tcats and sold em.
for a 700 its powerfull.

if the word mud is in the question anywhere then the only honest option you have is the Mud Pro. a brute is not a much a mud machine as it is a pit machine. you will not be disapointed with the MP
