I haven't been to Shiloh in a WHILE, but I can tell you what to expect from Mud Creek. Mud Creek is mainly low-land trails. There is a highline, or powerline as some call it, that leads and branches off to many wooded trails. There are dry spots, but the name is MUD CREEK, so expect some difficult mud spots. Not everything is 4ft deep mud, so there is plenty of mud riding even for the novice mudder. Also, the "sand pit" is just that, a large pit of sand with water in it, and yes it is deep at some spots, but this is where the majority of people do their water riding etc. Also, you can venture back across HWY 79 underneath the bridge where Mud Creek has additional acres of land for nice riding. There is a map on here somewhere that shows all of the "hot spots" I will have to dig up. It is a blast and no matter how many times you go, the terrain is always changing and it is always a fun ride!

I had a blast at Mud Creek last time i went, never been to Shiloh before.
But i am not all for riding hills and all that  i like the mud and water, so i will stick to Mud Creek.

MC is about 30 minutes on down the road.  It is also 4X larger than Shiloh.  I have not been back to Shiloh since MC opened even though it is 30 minutes closer.

Actually Mud Creek is about 45 min down the road....I've timed it before.  And IMO Shiloh is far superior....the trails are better and the hills create more obstacles (especially when wet) and the technical riding it provides is more of what I'm into.  Everyone who has been there now's it not only rock....there is mud everywhere.  Plus the crowd that goes is a lot of fun to kick back and watch act a fool.

I just dont get as much of a "fun factor" at Mud Creek.  Just my opinion guys....

It all depends on your type of riding. I'm not really into going places where they allow trucks. Hills scare me on ATVs, have a huge fear of flipping over...know a guy that died at Shiloh awhile back on the hills out there. Mud Creek is just sooo big and the riding out there is awesome. We always have a blast.

I guess that depends on how fast you drive I can leave Lufkin and be at MC park in Jacksonville in an hour driving the speed limit and a little less than an hour if I am in a hurry.  The last time I timed it, it took 25 minutes to get from the turn for Shiloh to the turn for MC.   It is a matter of opinion.  If you like to climb hills, Shiloh definately has more than MC and more people have been hurt and killed there as well.  They don't call it helicopter hill for nothing. If you wanted to climb hills then I would tell you to go to river run.  They have small mountains there.  I think if I rode a sport quad, I would like Shiloh better.

If you have a whole weekend to play, I suggest you hit all 3 parks: Shiloh Ridge (Alto), Mud Creek (J-ville) and River Run (J-ville).  I once hit 2 of the parks in a single day (SR and MC), but ran out of time to hit the 3rd.  They each have their own Pros and Cons.  I enjoy the hilly terrain of SR and also watching the big trucks wade thru the large open mud pitts.   On the other hand, MC is flat, but has lots of mud as previously stated.  I don't do deep mud, but I enjoy riding around the (dry) trails at MC....have done several cross-country races (ATVCCS series) at MC over the last 4 years or so...altho they don't race there anymore.  As for RR, I've only been a few times, but I enjoyed riding that park too...has a few hilly trails with a nice look-out (scenary) point at the top of one or two of them.  As I recall the last time I was at RR, the trails were occasionally marked with signs and/or maps to show the trails.   Again, I don't do deep mud...so I can't really say much about their mud trails at RR.

Happy trails...:)

Yeah River Run has really awesome scenic trails. Only time I've ever went there it was reallllly flooded so we didn't get to see a lot of the lower trails but it is pretty neat out there. We stayed out of the way of the big trucks mostly.

I agree with amanda, I dont like riding my quad around the trucks, makes  me too nervous and every time i turn around theres a mudhole that a truck tore up real bad and is too deep to ride a wheeler through
