The Lake has been in the works for years before Mud Creek was opened. Actually the flooding of mud creek bottom by the lake was one of the main reasons the land owner decided to turn it into a mud park; who cares if the land gets torn up, it will all be under water in a few years. Then Mud Creek Offroad Park was a much bigger success then most anticipated. Mud Nationals, Mud Stock, etc are big time money makers for this town; yeh there is a big head ache with putting on big events, but there is also a big reward. If anything, the success of Mud Creek has created a push to hold off on the lake as long as possible. The lake is coming though, and they moving forward. I figure 2-4 years and it will be under water. Enjoy while you can!
