I have a 2008 420ES the bike is all stock right now i have 27x10x12 and 27x12x12 mudlites on Itp rims! looking for a better tire the mudlites do fine but they wear to fast i ride 30% road,40% trails and 30% mud which one would be a better tire . What size would pull better on my bike? also whats the weight of a 27x10x12 and a 12x12 mst?

Either one is alot better than a mudlite.

Yes they are i bought the mudlites for real cheap from a friend and really for the 12" rim. So what tire would do better in the mud and what size should i run? whats the weight of the 27" mst?

The 589's will outmud the MST's by a small margin. The MST's will handle MUCH MUCH better on the trail.  MST's run true to size and 589's run about an inch short.  589's may be a little heavier.  Weight is close on the two. Both wear like iron.

I have had both and ride similar to you.  I have never looked back after trading my 589's to MST's.  MST's are overall a much better all around tire.

So what if i went with the 26" would it still take alot of power and speed away! Im just not sure if i want to go back with a 27" like the mudlites i have they dont pull like i want them to. I know its got alot to do with the bike being stock but just want it to pull right with out all the mods. In time i will add all the goods but for know its gonna be stock so how will it do with the 26"? Wont the 27" eventually tear my bike up or not?

i like my 589's they are around 6-7 years old and still look fairly new. they pull like a horse and wear like steel. they really suprised me. i have never rode a pair of MST's but they look pretty awesome. That 420 will love those 27's i think. i dont think you can go wrong either way

589's will pull better in all types of mud; MST's will ride smoother & handle better on all types of trail; both wear good w/589's lasting a little longer; both will handle poorly at high speeds.
For your described conditions, I recommend the MST's. With only 30% use in mud, your not gonna miss the slight advantage of the 589's in this area. The MST's will fair better on the trail.

The 28" 589's do not weigh a ton. They weigh 27-28lbs a piece. They are some very good tires. The only reason I soild mine is because I wanted some laws.

It sounds like to me that you would do well to go with the MST's on the little Rancher.

Thanks for the input everyone but i think im gonna go with the 27" mst's they just sound like the right tire for me. Just because we ride alot of hard trails to get to just a little mud around the house so the mst sounds like the one! Thanks again for the help! Oh and b.w.l 500 shoot me some pics if you still have them i might know somebody that might want them if they look good.

You will love the MST's . It dose take some power to pull them. The only thing I would add is don't put wide tires on all 4's.I am glade I didn't.

i have a 2in lift and i have 27s and i get highcented all teh time because i wanted to try that hole and that hole and that hole and so on... you get the point if you ride where alot of other people ride like in my case busco beach, nc then yes you will get highcented alot or you will be stuck with a tire that is mad for mud and you are using it for trails because you are avoiding everything
