Uhm.............If you have a bent rod, it's only a matter of time before you completely lose compression and break the rod and get stuck out in the middle of your mudholes..........I would not recommend riding it.  If you do ride it, it's only gonna screw up your crankshaft that might still be salvageable, as well as your head, which also might still be salvageable.  All you're gonna do, if you ride it, is hurt your wallet even more.  Best of luck to you if you do take it out though......

The fact is, you CAN hurt it more than it already is.  As stated before, there may be some salvageable parts in there.  If money's no object, then go for it and have fun with it.  I'm not that blessed though..........So if it were my bike, I'd park it, and tear the motor down to see what the damage is.

A complete motor rebuild usually means new bearings everywhere and some machine work, that doesn't necassarily mean you will need new hard parts. Like the crank, head, cylinder etc... I would not ride it if it has a bent rod, the piston will likely start wearing that cylinder into an oval shape and it will start to lose all compression, oil will be badly contaminated and you could possibly just sieze it all up.

Just me man I wouldn't ride it if the motor is that bad

yea i hear ya and i understand where your comin from and at the same time i wanna go ridin i also wanna tear into it and see wuts really wrong with it but like i said i dont kno a lick about it so i took it to them to see wut the deal was and they just listened to it first they said bottom end noise then another guy came in a said no its deffiantly in the top in but they said its not my valves.now there goin back and sayin its the top and bottom end but yet they never tore it apart to look at it and see so i mean i dont kno and i cant do it cuz i dont know where to start i mean i want to learn how to do all that and i guess the only way to learn is to get my hands dirty but i dont even know where to start and my luck ill either mess somethin up worse or forget how to put it back together or somethin
