I have to change a boot on one of my monkey axles. Is there a trick to get the joint off to replace the boot? Ive been told to put the axle in a vice and pull on the joint wiggling it around and it should pop off. Anybody have a better way of doing it. Thanks for the help.

oh yeah...i've replaced about 20 of them......put it in a vice GOOD AND TIGHT......take a 5lb brass hammer so you won't damage the axle and swing at the cv joint like you are pissed at the world...if you are replacing it with a monkey boot..be sure to order new inner circlips for the joint because they usually get destroyed when you knock them apart
