ive been reading on how to snorkel my brute and the mimb are very good instructions but it doesnt say anything about sealing the airbox. How should this be done? Also do u have to rejet with just snorkels? And how do u cut the round holes in the shroud for the stacks i think it klooks cleaner

Just put some silicone in the groove where the lid goes, let it sit up to where its tacky and put the lid back on but dont clamp it down just put some pressure on it then pull it back of and let it dry real good, then your ready to go, Oh also you need to put some grease around the lid so the silicon wont stick to it. Its what I did and works great and if you mess up to where it dosent work good just try it again, it'll work!!!

i put silicone around mine, let it get tacky for about 10 minutes then put the lid on. i wait another few hours before it gets clamped.
it's very tight and sealed that way. i just apply new silicone everytime i have to clean the filter.

that's always a possibility with a carb'd brute but, based on what we've heard, if you follow the directions, use a 3" elbow coming off the airbox and remove the backfire screen under the filter the bike runs fine without a rejet.
it's always a possibility though as all bikes are different..

^^^ This is usually only true if your keeping the stock exhaust. If you upgrade to an aftermarket exhaust you will have to rejet, unless its something like a big gun slip on, then the possibility of not having to rejet is still there. Since the big Gun doesnt require a rejet on its own. Some aftermarket exhaust require a rejet themselves.

You have to cut both the ends off and then it fits quite nicely!

I think you might be confused? When you cut off the 3" ends the center "bend" is actually only 2". With the 2" 90 the ends are 2" but the "bend" is only an inch thus very restrictive on air intake. ALMOST30s posted some pics on this not too long ago but I forgot what thread. Maybe he can chime in here.

whats the drawbacks to using flex hose. I was thinking of at least using the flex hose for the cv exhaust because  wouldnt have to worry about it caving in from pressure and it seems like it would b alot easier to do. Just the 3" - 2" coupler a 90 small piece of 2" pipe then connector to the flex hose. Is this a good idea or not?

lots of people use the flex spa hose successfully for a snorkeling application.
I think it's a completely viable thing to do.
i just preferred to have the harder PVC pipe.
I do think, over time, that PVC will outlast flex hose being exposed to the elements plus engine heat.

Its really easier to me to do the hard piping. The flex hose was more difficult.Ive done them both.

Dont use Flex for the CV exhaust... Unless you have some hi-heat flex hose.

i dont know how hot the CVT exhaust can get but i know that most spa flex hose will only withstand about 150 F

I have used the kits many times.  I have ran into jetting issues with the center snorkles, but I have found a good fix.  Instead of running the intake snorkle to the left of the steering frame, go under it and then back up.  What this does is it takes out one of the 90 degree turns and lets more air in quicker.  It has helped me get bikes to run a lot smoother and I did not have to go down in jet size so much.  You do have to go down but just not as much.  Here is some pics of a 08' I just did.

And for you guys that need even more air...  I went to the local Lowes and got all 3" sewer pipe to do this.  You also need a 3" rubber 90.  I could not find it in black ABS or I would have gone that route.

Tell you the turth I would rejet any bike that you alter.  I am going to get a A/F reader to get the bikes dialed in right.  The Flex is a easy way to do it but it brakes real easy..  I hard pipe everything I do.

Nice job on that 3"  snorkle FF1501,    I wish I would have seen this earlier.    I just changed my mimb snorkle this morning,  just like your first pictures.

That 3" will really flow some air!

Thanks Guys...  I will have to rejet the bike after the 3" snorkle.  The 2" on the carb bikes are jetted with real small jets but the 3" should get me up in jet size...  I willl try to post what jet sizes I went with.  Going to the dyno Wednesday with the A/F reader on it...
