Difference?
price, rope or cable, wireless remote are the main ones I can think of.
I owned a Max,it never let me down, out pulled other makes.
I would have bought another but no mounts available for the XP at this time.

XP mounts are coming soon triplgg....2-4 weeks I believe.

And you are correct on the main differences between the MAX and the ELITE. The ELITE series also has a internal premium greasing system that has quieted the motor and an extra six months of warranty.

Hope that helps.

i think the Max and Elite are both good winches, i have a tendancy to always go with the top of the line, and the 18 month warranty on the Elite shines, so i would go with the Elite

im dealing with moto alliance now these guys customer service is outstanding. i hope there winches are as good as their customer service and ill be happy as all get out. i guess im going to get the viper max 3500 with synthetic rope. this should work good on my 800 outlander shouldnt it. i would get the elite but it hasnt been out long enough for me to hear a whole lot about them.  what is the best way to seal the contactor boxes when you get it.

The Elite has a much stronger 3/16" diameter rope, the Max has 1/4" rope. The Elite has a "wireless" remote, the Max does not. The Elite has an " Internal Premium Greasing System" along with an extra 6 months of warrenty compared to the Max. Both are very good winches, the Elite is simply the top of the line with more goodies standard. FYI, I think the Elite greasing system to be a big deal for a long life expectation on this winch. To me, that alone is a difference maker between the two winches.

Peter, does the Elite have a stronger steel drum on it than the old aluminum ones on the Max series? I thought I heard something about this before but I might have been mistaken?

Good memory on that Massmudman....that was part of our original effort, but the design change did not work to this point. But we haven't had any issues with this spool at all and it is the same spool as on the MAX which we have sold for a long time. But we are always looking for ways to give the rider the best experience possible, so if I do hear of any issues, we would change immediately.

GREAT to see the ELITE in the Highlifter catalog and now on sale on the website. It's been the most significant product we've offered in 5+ years at MotoAlliance. There simply has not been a winch to fill the gap between the $100-$200 price points and the $600-$800 price points. The ELITE should function as well as the upper-scale winches at 1/2 the price.

Have a great weekend everyone. I hope you are all doing well in weathering this financial downturn.
