20 amp breaker replacement

---breaker under hood picts

These circuit breakers can cause the headlights and pod lights to flash on and off and go blank.
I used an automotive replacement instead of the $27 Polaris 20 amp breaker.  $5 at Advanced Auto stores!

I have the same idea. I dont see why it wouldnt work. I did have the 800 single pipe on my old 2002 700 sportsman. On the 2005 sportsman I just dont think there is enough room on the left side for the pipe unless we would have to use 800 plastic.

I have the 800 dual header as many do on the sp700, not many want the extra weight of the dual silencers.
just go with a single like the PP/White Bros. silencer.

see picts here...

Not a lot IMO but it helps.
Others have claimed a much noticable difference.
You will need to rejet for optimal performace & Re mapp for the EFI units.

hello. my fan was noisey so i removed the blade and everything under it.i then carefully pryed the case appart. make sure the magnets do not get mixed up as the fan may spin backwards if you do. the bearing is a common bearing used in many roller blade wheels. my local hardware store had a box in the bolt aisle with only 4 different sizes. one of the 4 was the same size, and even had heavy duty seals. the other end of the shaft is a bushing and was in great shape. i then packed the bushing with some good synthetic grease, and now the fan motor is smooth as silk. also the fan blade fit loose over the drive pin. i coated the notch in the blade, and the shaft with heavy duty black gasket maker.  installed the fan and clip and coated the end of the shaft and fan with the same sealer.  let it set up over night. the fan was never as quiet as it is now, and the gasket maker acts as a shock absorber between the steel drive pin and the plastic blade. the sealer i used should allow the blade to come free if it should ever need to come appart again.  the best part was the bearing was only 2.85 and the sealer i had kicking around the garage.  sure beats 250.00 from polaris.

i know that a 700 belt part #3211091, will work in the 800's, polaris dealer said the 700 belt would not work, but i tried it anyway and no problems, actually i think it pops out of the hole a little better.. the 700 belt is $49 dollars and the belt for the 800 is $90.. so u do the math

Great thread guys, helped me find front and rear drive shaft UJ's for a buddies SP 600 on a saturday night, just got done putting them in. Polaris price $45 each, O'reilly #12 for their precision brand part number 338.

It was a PIA job, but what are you going to do when a buddies bike is down?

Yes.  However I suggest the neapco version.  I went to a driveline shop and asked for a spicer version but he told me the neapco is better because the spicer has fewer needle bearings, and they are bigger.  The neapco has more of them, and they are smaller, so the trunion is larger.  I believe the part number is 5-170x for the neapco.

Mobil One has a filter for the twins. M1-110   One of there best oil filters. i run one on my 800. I have a filter cutter and I cut all filters apart after an oil change to look inside. Also I determine how well the filter has been made. This is the first Mobil filter I hae run on the 800 and will let everyone know what I think of it after I cut it apart. The stock Polaris filters are made quite well.
