ORIGINAL: Chevync20 Adding pipes and filters, etc eic doesnt increase top end at all, you just get there faster. Your rpms will be controlled by a ecm and even then your stock clutching will be deciding factor also, when your out of gearing your out of gearing. I ride with a polaris 500 and when we get together a Grizzly 700, Rzr 800, Brute 750, and a Can-am 800 the Popo has no chance on the open road on keeping up with any of us, he tops on a GPS at 56 on stock sized tires, new belt and the whole 9, so for you to run 70 I call bs unless you put it in nuetral and threw a rope into oncoming traffic Exactly. It doesn't matter if you put turbos, nitrous or all the bolt ons in the world. If your bike won't turn more max rpms than it did stock it will run the same top end speed. Not totally true, the older 500's had no ecm's or rev limiters. After engine mods mine turns 9300 no load and will turn about 8700 rpms in gear. I never had a tach when it was stock but I know there was no rev limiter. I would not say that. I used to sell them and wrench on them from 1998 to 2002.
