the other night i woke up at about 530 in the morning and i had a sharp pain in my side so i though i just slept wrong...i walked around the house and it didnt go away so the firt shing i though of was kidney stones...b/c i had battled the same thing about a year ago..so i went wake up my grandmaw ahd she brought me to the emergency room...shure enough...they ran some tests on me. they said i got kidney stones again...3 of them...1 in each kidney and one in my urinal tube. the one in my urnal tube is 4mm big...well they gave me some pain medicine and told me to make an apointment with an uroligist so the hospital sent my test results to them and they said that they have to remove it by surgrey b/c its loged in my urnal tube....i heve never been put to sleep or anyhting like that so im kinda scared...especally sence im only 17...

hey everyone should be put to sleep at least once its cool lol. they inject the stuff, everything feels normal for a lil while then all of a sudden the whole room starts spinning for like 2 seconds then u are OUT

i no hoe ya feel with the kidney stones man.. it runs in our family ive never had to have surgery though, the last one i had i passed it on my own

.my cuz (badforeman475) has had a couple surgerys.... hope all goes well bud..

every time I had surgery the anestesiologist (drug man) put something in my IV and said count back from 100... OK 100, 99, 98, 9OUT coolest thing I ever experienced. theyll most likely give you some valium, atavan or equivalent in the pre-op area after they start your IV etc. itll calm you down nicely LOL dont worry Ive been out about 9x all went smooth. Youll be just fine.

yeah, I had to get my appendix removed and got put under for that. I was 11 and it almost burst. Same deal though, some valliums(sp) and an i.v. then to the O.R. and I remember it was really cold in there...then he added the drug to my iv and told me to count back from 20. got to 19 and I could taste that drug in my breath!! that fast!! 18 and was OUT!! although I had a reaction to the anesthesia and didn't wake up for 8hrs after I was supposed to...

Waking up after being put to sleep is weird. I remember being in the elevator after surgery. I guess I was being taken back to my room. They noticed me waking up and started to talk to me. I could not respond and I was out like a light again. Woke up a few hours later in my room.

I was told to count backwards from 100 like was said before. I remember 98. It's that quick.

Hope all goes well. It's only minor surgery if it is done on someone else.

i know how you feel man. the first time i was put to sleep i was 17 too. its a crazy feeling. they started me on some nitros oxide (laughing gas) which made me relax then they added the medicine to my iv and i was out before 97. then when i woke up i remember my mom pushing walking beside my bed as they pushed me into the elevator, then i was out again. then i woke up with my girl friend, and mom, and dad, and a few of my buddies in the room. man that sympathy thing is great. especially with the ladies. they will be catering to your every need. just sit back, relax and enjoy being pampered because it wont last long enough.

but ill tell you that 2 weeks of bein cooped up in the stinkin house after my surgery was HORRIBLE!!!

I just had my first kidney stone about a month ago.

Horrible pain. I still have 2 in each kidney but the urologist says they are small enough to pass. Good luck with the surgery.

well from experience, i know how your feeling. i had 3 surgerys when i was 15.. ( bad motocross crash )...broken tib and fib (leg) and torn ACL.. its not that bad..your not going to know anything...theyre going to give you something intrasvenisly, and before you know it, your gunna wake up and everything is over with...i dont know if this is all the same with kidney stones, but it probebly is..you'll be in my prayers man, everything's gunna be ok

yeah them stones hurt like ****. had my first one about a month ago and im only 22. went to the ER got some pain pills and felt better by the time i left. i never followed up with the uroligist(sp) b/c they said it was small enough to pizz out. been 3 or 4 weeks and havent felt it come out. wonder if i should see a doctor? lol

I had never been put to sleep either, untill I had surgery on my ankle in July. I'm 27 and was more than nervous, was flat out scared. The doc told me that they was goin to give me 2 injections to prepare me for the anestesia, but he lied.................was one prep shot, and one to take me out. That was the only time I been out, when I woke up, I was up, there wasn't any in and out. Felt really good for the rest of the day and that night...........no pain what so ever. Then the followin day came, and oh man did I hurt. Good luck with everything, hope it all goes well.

1. you are 29 not 27
2. it took you forever to wake up. i sat in the hospital room forever!
3. once you did start to wake up, you were so groggy you didnt even know where you were.
4. you may have felt good, but you were a pain in the butt patient! lol

good luck with everything man. kidney stones is a common thing and common operation, so no worries!

i had to get some teeth pulled and they could put my on "laughing" gas and i would fill the pain or i could get put to sleep and i hate ssen needles in my def in my hand but i didn't feel a thing and they doctor said i will count down for 3 and i was like it will take longer than that he said 3-2 and i was out i just didn't like wakin up havin that needle in my hand but good louck my dad has had them and i hope i never have them they look likt they are very painful

bein put to sleep isnt that bad. its waking up. my mom says that the doctor came in and then five minuts later i was askin if we were gunna see the docter. for some reason it messed with my memory. i was 13. man it puts you out fast. they will tell you to count back wards from 100 and by 97 your out

i wasn't that affected they said they would get somebody to walk with me to the front but i wasn't that dizzy you will wake up and it is kinda of a blur and don't get up fast or your head will spin you are kinda dizzy and if you have ever just spun around a lot in a circle and then try to walk staright it kinda feels like that but it ain't that bad and you just are like how long have i been out
