Honestly there is not a whole lot of difference whether you buy a kit or build your own other than price, a kit is going to come in pieces just like it would if you built your own. The only upside is you wont have to go through the hassle of gathering up all the pieces and the Bayou kit comes black which gives it a clean look. If you build your own your probably going to use white PVC which in my opinion sticks out like a sore thumb and paint will only chip off over time.

lol Thats a good price.[:D]

BeastlyVinson -> RE: Bayou Snorkels?? (9/29/2008 8:27:01 PM)

Camo750i -> RE: Bayou Snorkels?? (9/29/2008 8:33:04 PM)

Highlifter doesn't have a kit out for a Vinson yet? I thought you were trying to sell him the directions for a kit you bought.

$400! Negative.... DK wuts ur opinion on this.

StartRincon -> RE: Bayou Snorkels?? (9/29/2008 8:58:14 PM)

It will cost you about 350 installed. And you will have to make an appointment. Only reason i know this is because a freind of mine is wanting to get his 04 sportsman done and it will have to be a custom job. Look at it this way , It will be done right by people that do it everyday and take pride in there work.

[sm=exactly.gif]thts wut i was thnkin, bt i jus wanted 2 get a few opinions n all 2 see if it was worth the money.

devildog12210 -> RE: Bayou Snorkels?? (9/30/2008 6:43:57 AM)

Is it worth the money........ I don't think so because you could do just a good of job yourself. Snorkaling a bike is not hard. When you do it for the first time you wont believe that you were going to pay someone to do it. There are plenty of write ups in the suzuki section on how to snorkal vinsons. Do a search and check it out. $60 vs $350. Thats a big gap my friend. To each his own though. Best of luck to ya![;)]

kleinwild -> RE: Bayou Snorkels?? (9/30/2008 6:52:24 AM)

This is how this guy makes his living and you have ppl that buy his kit and trun around and try to sell his directions! I think its B.S. Bayou Snorkels is the only way to go!

josh70586 -> RE: Bayou Snorkels?? (9/30/2008 7:13:50 AM)

i didnt know there was a bayou snorkel store. where is it ?

kleinwild -> RE: Bayou Snorkels?? (9/30/2008 7:14:50 AM)

Bossier City! Its on Sligo Rd. Its not a "store" its a shop!

josh70586 -> RE: Bayou Snorkels?? (9/30/2008 7:19:59 AM)

oh. kinda far for me.  do you know if they do radiator kits?  i did snorkel myself but i dont think i wanna do my radiator.

Kodiak 450 -> RE: Bayou Snorkels?? (9/30/2008 8:57:41 AM)

If you can do the snorkel then you definatly can do the Radiator...

josh70586 -> RE: Bayou Snorkels?? (9/30/2008 9:27:01 AM)

oh someone told me the radiator was harder. and i finished snorks just in time i was getting aggravated.  so u think its easier? whos kit did u use ?

[sm=agreed.gif] I have watched Brian (owner of Bayou Snorkels) snorkel bikes before and he does take pride in his work and he does an excellent job at making sure everything is perfect...

fl650mudder -> RE: Bayou Snorkels?? (10/6/2008 5:49:02 PM)

I can tell you this, I was one of the first customers of Bayou Snorkels and bought one of the very first Brute snorkels. I have nothing but good things to say about them and their customer service. They are top notch people!!!

350rancherboy -> RE: Bayou Snorkels?? (10/6/2008 6:18:45 PM)

personally, i would make my own....for that kinda money....you can do just as good of a job as save a buttload of $

BeastlyVinson -> RE: Bayou Snorkels?? (10/6/2008 6:32:10 PM)

Well i do agree wit tht the price is high compared to doin it yourself, but its a professional job. But i thnk i found someone else to do em jus waitin to see if i sell my bike or not.

oilfieldtrash -> RE: Bayou Snorkels?? (10/6/2008 7:56:25 PM)

its not hard to snorkel a bike if you take your time and pride in your work you could do it for more than 1/2 the price.. and bayou is in this to make money so taking 5 or 6 hrs to snorkel a bike and do it right for $400 is nothing take your car to the shop and have some work done i bet you come out with alot more than $400..if you dont feel comfortable doing it then take it to him just my .02

Ayo -> RE: Bayou Snorkels?? (10/7/2008 12:51:46 PM)

5 or 6 hrs and half of 400 bucks...NO MAN!!! Once you have your snorkel mapped out in your head, it should not take but about an hour or so to build.  When i snorkeled my Bear i used black abs everywhere but where it was routed on side of the engine.  The abs is light and comes black...with all materials my snorkel only coasted me 30 bucks!!
