POPO800EFI -> RE: TIRES 4 A BONE STOCK 420 (9/15/2008 9:07:47 PM)

I will list in order of price mudlite XTR, ITP 589's, Outlaw MST's

PAPER CLIPS -> RE: TIRES 4 A BONE STOCK 420 (9/15/2008 9:13:53 PM)

YEAH i like 589s and msts   also i like doin waterwheelies and for that i need a pretty aggressive tire for that    mainly im focused on a tire that pulls good,dont rob power and is not to rough on the bike

POPO800EFI -> RE: TIRES 4 A BONE STOCK 420 (9/15/2008 9:19:29 PM)

the 589's are not too bad at all I think and I do not care what anyone says but they are really really smooth from 5mph and up

PAPER CLIPS -> RE: TIRES 4 A BONE STOCK 420 (9/15/2008 9:21:39 PM)

HOW DO YOU THINK IT WOULD PULL 27-11-12 REARS AND 27-9-12 FRONTS? (589S THAT IS)

southern boy -> RE: TIRES 4 A BONE STOCK 420 (9/15/2008 9:49:58 PM)

for sand i dont know about those. i would go with somethin more like a big horn for that

POPO800EFI -> RE: TIRES 4 A BONE STOCK 420 (9/15/2008 10:46:48 PM)

Umm I thought you could get a 27 in 12 wide for the rear 589's ? Either way should do good.....nut are you going to ride a passenger all the time ?

gump05 -> RE: TIRES 4 A BONE STOCK 420 (9/15/2008 11:13:08 PM)

i would suggest the super swamper tsl 26s on ur bike i have them and they do good in the sand and when ur in a soft creek bottom or in the river they will not dig down likeothe tires do i love my tires

POPO800EFI -> RE: TIRES 4 A BONE STOCK 420 (9/15/2008 11:16:24 PM)

Lol where do those tires come from and how much and what sizes

ChaseCanAm -> RE: TIRES 4 A BONE STOCK 420 (9/16/2008 12:07:54 AM)

You might try the zillas they are light and do good in mud I ride with a guy on a 420 and he has 28 zillas and it does good

dbmachine -> RE: TIRES 4 A BONE STOCK 420 (9/16/2008 1:18:57 AM)

vamps are what you need..26x12 on the rear and 27x9.5 on the front...

POPO800EFI -> RE: TIRES 4 A BONE STOCK 420 (9/16/2008 1:20:06 AM)

um 27's in front and 26 in back ?

bear09 -> RE: TIRES 4 A BONE STOCK 420 (9/16/2008 7:08:10 AM)

the 27's 9.5 runs a lil short so you match it with the 26 12 which runs bout half inch tall and you got a good combo... pulls good and rides good

HondaGuy -> RE: TIRES 4 A BONE STOCK 420 (9/16/2008 9:51:03 AM)

You do not want Vamps, or 589s in the sand or you will be miserable.[sm=banghead.gif] The old school TSL ATV Swampers are supposed to be pretty good. If you do a pipe and jet kit then you will love the Mud Machine Bi and Tri Claw Magnums, but they are too much for a stock 420 imo. I have them on mine and they are an amazing tire, very good in the mud, VERY smooth on anything hard, still able to do trails without major difficulty, they wear very good, and are possibly the best mud tire out there in the sand. At 7psi they take my Rancher in 2wd places that my old Mudlite XLs at 3psi wouldn't go in 4wd. I ride all the time at a sand pit they have yet to dissapoint me there.

Yep, Far superior in sand compared to the rest of the mud tires, the perform "decent" in mud.   My honda 300 out climbs my 420 on sandy banks and hills BY FAR running the TSL vs. the vampires on my 420. The mudlites I had did ok in sand but the TSL's do better and about on par in the mud.

POPO800EFI -> RE: TIRES 4 A BONE STOCK 420 (9/16/2008 3:47:54 PM)

I will admit it matters what kind of sand you ride.....if your in Oklahoma by the red river forget any tire doing you good hahaha

The 28" Zilla's are great!

he said for a STOCK bike. if you are going to leave it that way stick to 26's. no 27's or it will suck.

A Stock Rancher 420 would have no problems whatsoever with 28" Zilla's since they are so light.

I liked the way my MST's handled in sand.  They will definitely last a long time in your conditions.

blake_comeaux -> RE: TIRES 4 A BONE STOCK 420 (9/16/2008 10:14:03 PM)

I have to agree with mudfuzzy a bit. My bike bogged/still bogs down before/after my clutch kit in thick/really thick mud. If that makes sense. Wish I had more mods but its hunting season, so I have lost interest in riding.

POPO800EFI -> RE: TIRES 4 A BONE STOCK 420 (9/16/2008 10:22:49 PM)

I know my BB400 would sometimes even with only 26's but I rode a passenger and had a cooler all the time

PAPER CLIPS -> RE: TIRES 4 A BONE STOCK 420 (9/16/2008 11:00:29 PM)

Where i ride you cant run over 27 inch tires and no aftermarket pipes (even though people do both of those things)  i borrowed my buddies 27 inch outlaws one weekend and i loved the traction but WAY to much power loss  im wantin somethin that pulls good in sand pits

PAPER CLIPS -> RE: TIRES 4 A BONE STOCK 420 (9/16/2008 11:08:09 PM)

i do like the looks of STI MUD TRAX and they run very true.but a 27 inch tire only comes in a 14 inch rim , thats not the problem , i plan on getting motorsportalloy castlerocks and i dont think they come in 14 inch ,so i thought maybe some sti slashers or xl2s.

Rancherlee -> RE: TIRES 4 A BONE STOCK 420 (9/19/2008 8:01:42 AM)

27" swamper tsl's come in at ~28" tall for the wides at 27.5" tall for the skinnies with less than 5psi air. VERY good trail/sand tire thats OK in mud (just as good as mud lites and there lighter too!

What weight you are saving by using the 28" Zillas you are losing due to the fact they are on a heavy 14" wheel. Thats too much for a bone stock 420, I'm going to run the 25" Mudlites at the sand pit this weekend to see if they are anywhere near as good as my Bi/Tris are. I do know the bike is a heck of a lot quicker with the little Lites, thats fun to play around with.[:D]  I think your best bet will be the Swamper TSL ATVs, on 12" wheels to keep weight down.

Agreed Zillas are good tires but not 28s on a stock 420. Stick 27s on it on 12" wheels and you will have a nice setup.

Honda28s -> RE: TIRES 4 A BONE STOCK 420 (9/21/2008 12:10:37 AM)

IMO ZILLAS ARE 1 OF THE TOP TIRES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Well I ran the 25s at the sand pit today and they sucked pretty bad lol. The Bi/Tris are a lot better in the sand then these things. Its quicker with the 25s but the 27s will walk circles around them in the sand. Looks like I'm going to be switching tires again tomorrow at work. Mudlites for sale anybody want them? lol

PAPER CLIPS -> RE: TIRES 4 A BONE STOCK 420 (9/21/2008 9:33:48 PM)

OK, i kinda changed my mind (even though i probaly will a million times before i buy some tires) but i think i mite get some 25 inch outlaws       how do yall think i could pull them?
