Class 18-4 Super modified says 0-990+cc's same here.

Amendment 1.1:
In accordance with section 1:2 of the CMR Rule Book, the following amendment was made to
section(s) 18:1e,18:2e,18:3e,18:4c,18:6c on Monday May 19th, 2008. CMR wishes to clarify
that said rule is designed to limit each ATV to its factory casings, including jugs, which allow
CMR to have a standard basis for fairness and engine CC size classification, since internal
modifications are limited by external constraints. Internal modifications can include, but are
not limited to re-sleeving and big bore kits. However, the practice of “bolting on” jugs from a
larger ATV motor violates this rule, which states that "each ATV must use the factory engine
mated to particular unit" and has NOT been clearly understood or adhered to
by many competitors. With the growth of the sport in mind, familiarization with standardized
rules, and consideration to competitors transitioning from older racing circuits into CMR with
pre-built motors, CMR will allow the addition of jugs in the 2008 season. However, jugs must
not exceed 150cc larger than stock and they can only be used from another ATV
motor. Given the abundance of CC's that larger jugs offer, CMR reserves the right to
appropriately re-class the ATV. Consequently, CMR is providing ample time to prepare for
the 2009 season, at which time, the stated amendment will be negated and the original
rule strictly enforced.

Waiting on aluminum rods, before I put the turbo setup back on. In the meantime, I'm tryin' to get the N/A motor to make all the hp I can, gettin' ready to go into production of the kit. Tore the 1004 down today, and everything looks good, puttin' it back together to test the BRP race intake, when it gets here. Gonna order 14 to 1 pistons on monday to go in the N/A motor, and see what that'll do for power.

No, the heads haven't been welded, stock heads work fine. These aren't stock, as they have larger valves, and porting, but the fire deck is still stock, not even surfaced.

You kind of shoot for a cc number and then start building the parts and it ends up being what ever the math puts it with round numbers. It wouldn't make since to make a pistons that was 96.157mm's so it would be 1000cc's. Same as MRRPM'S 1004, a 4" piston was easier to build than a 3.975 to make it 1000.

LOL! not sure if those sizes are right, I was just making a point.

YOUR RIGHT HONDAFOREMAN450ES NOBODY THOUGHT ABOUT BUILDING BILLET JUGS BECAUSE THE RULES STATE THAT THE JUGS HAVE TO BE ORIGINAL MANUFACTURER JUGS FOR US GUYS INTO THE MUD RACING

So if the stock jugs can be bored that size and the billet ones cool better anybody see anything wrong with running them besides the rules? Maybe the rules can be ammended as long as the majority of the members are O.K. with it. I'f RPM could build and sell enuff billet jugs maybe it would lead to building a number of other billet parts such as differential housings ( haven't heard of alot of failers on can-am diffs but others need it). How about the heads?

Agreed!  So, the stroke alone is getting it to 1000cc?  Guess I'll have to make this one a 1040 just to be different!!
