CATVOS RZR 1 -> TURBO'S!!! (9/7/2008 11:34:47 PM)

I WAS JUST WONDERING IF ANYONE HAS BEEN EXPOSED TO THE POWER AND RELIABILITY OF A TURBO ON THEIR QUAD? THIS IS THE SINGLE BEST MOD YOU CAN DO. NO MOTOR WORK COMPARES TO IT AND NOS ISNT GOOD FOR RELIABILITY IN A MOTOR? IF THERE ARE ANY QUESTIONS OUT THERE LET ME KNOW. I AM CURRENTLY TWEAKING MY TURBO RZR. FAST? YOU WOULDNT IMAGINE![;)]

mudman3298 -> RE: TURBO'S!!! (9/7/2008 11:50:32 PM)

how hard are the turbos to maintain and exactily how reliablke are they

CATVOS RZR 1 -> RE: TURBO'S!!! (9/7/2008 11:53:58 PM)

THEY  ARE VERY RELIABLE. THEY CAN BE PUT ON IN YOUR BACKYARD WITH SIMPLE HAND TOOLS. MY TURBO HAS A LIFETIME WARRANTY AND IS FROM THE BEST IN THE BUSINESS.

kleinwild -> RE: TURBO'S!!! (9/8/2008 7:02:52 AM)

Sure are talking up that new sponsor! If they are so good, how come G-Axle hasnt had any luck with them? They are bad on dry ground! They are just not made for what we do! As far as the nitrous comment goes, dont knock till you have had it! I have had it on several bikes and never a single problem. As far as "no motor work compares" boy PLEASE, you better as somebody other than your sponsor, if they are the ones who told you that! Ill show ya what a little motor work will do next time we cross paths! [:D] C-ya in Minden! [;)]

Tan327 -> RE: TURBO'S!!! (9/8/2008 9:04:53 AM)

Nitrous is fine until you get stupid with it. Same goes for a turbo, it will work fine until you get boost happy.

[/quote TAN327..... I agree with you 100% NOS is ok as long as you keep it reasonable. Turbo's are the same you can't get boost happy! I learned that the hard way. You can overpower in a mudpit, now on a 300ft drag you can up the boost. [;)]

kleinwild -> RE: TURBO'S!!! (9/8/2008 11:30:36 AM)

Ya LOL.... I think one of are motor modded RZR have beatin you once already! [;)]

CATVOS RZR 1 -> RE: TURBO'S!!! (9/8/2008 12:20:19 PM)

Anyways... I simply was trying to say that I don't know of anything you can do MOTORWORK WISE that will DOUBLE your horsepower. I'm reffering to my POLARIS RZR 08. U can't big bore it. You can't put a 50hp shot of nos. Maybe high comp. pistons what else? Anyone out there with helpfull suggestions out there and not smart a coments please feel free to say your opinion. I simply know my turbo kit is DYNO proven. I'm still working on the clutching for mud pits. As far as I know I'm the first to try this in MY AREA. But I'll eventually get it dialed in. I don't know why mr. Kleinwild has to continuousely attack me?? I'm just trying to have a Lil fun. That's what this is supposed to be about. Right!?

buggedoutgrizz2 -> RE: TURBO'S!!! (9/8/2008 1:03:22 PM)

you know i was feelin pretty good about my catvos and now im hearing you guys got turbos and nos and i feel left out al over again man i need to step it up and i also need a sponsor cause i want to race lol

snowhite -> RE: TURBO'S!!! (9/8/2008 1:16:32 PM)

hey ben,  has ur rzr been jumping out of gear yet?????

SouthBossierGrizz -> RE: TURBO'S!!! (9/8/2008 1:24:23 PM)

Ben, once you get the clutching dialed in, that thing is going to fly in a pit!  The set up looked really good, I saw you doing the dose'do in the pit, other than that, how did it run?

parttime -> RE: TURBO'S!!! (9/8/2008 2:09:38 PM)

over on the atvquadsquad.com forum their was a guy that had put a heelclicker in a rzr and finially got it dialed in and said it was a big improvement,you got a heelclicker clutch kit?also might want to try a dirty dawg clutch kit it to is adjustable.good luck getting the clutch dialed in.

yeah I hope so brian. That was pretty funny in the pit. I guess I should leave my Cajun dancing out of the pit??LOL!!

Kratos -> RE: TURBO'S!!! (9/8/2008 3:44:34 PM)

So motor work such as bbk's, pistons, etc. can compare to turbo and nos? How? Mrrpm has tripled his horsepower with turbo alone and no motor work. I haven't heard of any mods yet that do that. But this question is only out of curiosity because I don't know 10% of what you guys know so I'm asking this humbly.

WOW!!!!!!! So you mean to tell us your RZR dyno'ed at 104HP! Because stock is 52HP @ the crank and about 33.5HP at the ground! I want to see that dyno slip! I think we all do! Im not hating on you just calling your bluff! If turbos were they way to go every racing orginazation would have turbos and not motor work! Remember this "There is no replacement for displacement" You can get a RZR to around 70HP at the crank with HotSeat Peroformance which will put you at around 55HP on the ground. This is without nitrous! You can run a 30HP shot with a build motor and crank! That will put you at around 100HP at the crank and 78HP-85HP at the wheels! Depending on the clutching! As far as what all you need to do that with thats my secret! Is all I can tell you is that it starts with HotSeat Performance! Once again not calling you out or hating on you just telling you what you dont know! [:D]

foreman fin -> RE: TURBO'S!!! (9/8/2008 4:32:24 PM)

I dont see whats the big deal over the razr anyway. If one guys has one but the next guy has one that can beat it you either deal with the fact that that you can be beat or you build yours to beat the one that beat you before. I my self dont like to lose, now if its a local bog where the quads arent classed good and i get beat by a 660 grizz or a can am 800 thats one thing but when i get beat by sumthing thats in my catogory of bikes it makes me mad. So then i go and do something bout it. I mean it aint like it matters much anyways cuz i a built razr in my opinion and gonna touch a built rhino. Yamaha has made me a believer with that machine

foreman fin -> RE: TURBO'S!!! (9/8/2008 5:13:55 PM)

I mean I may be wrong, im not on here tryin to talk trash like kleinwild does to you but im just sayin theres been a few boys have sum razrs at sum of our local mud bogs and they aint been able to touch my buddies rhino. Now these rhinos and razrs aint HL pro series race bikes either, but they aint been able to beat this rhino through the mud

I'm not one for saying to much but I would like to see the dyno sheet on this to.  I helped clutch some turbo rangers in the spring of 06 and also built one of the very first 800 to put over 70hp at the crank in the winter of 05 with sevrel differnt people.  I also wouldn't recomend anything over 10psi of boost.  When running the turbo's you also have to run 100LL gas.  So buying gas at the local gas station is no longer an option.  I also am running nitrous on my toys and will stay with that.  Also not eveyone has 2-3 thousand dallors for a turbo.

Also Kleinwild I would love to see your ride and run my big old heavy RAGER againt that little RZR you have.  Maybe one day it will happen, but that will be latter then sooner...............Big

RAZORKILLER50 -> RE: TURBO'S!!! (9/8/2008 7:51:04 PM)

Hey dk drove the rhino today can you say omfg that thing will fly.

SPORTSMAN70003 -> RE: TURBO'S!!! (9/8/2008 8:45:32 PM)

Turbos are awesome power adders. If you are setup right you can double your horse power, so with a 52hp stock motor you can put out 104hp. Notice I said with the right setup. When you say theres no replacement for displacement your right. Thats exactly what a turbo does, you force in more air you add more fuel and you have more hp. Same with adding a stroker kit or bb kit your able to push more air out of the motor while adding fuel and you have more hp. A 760cc turbo motor running 1 bar of boost will be just like a 1520cc motor.

CATVOS RZR 1 -> RE: TURBO'S!!! (9/8/2008 9:44:14 PM)

how bout 12 psi of boost? yeah thats what i mean when i said im overpowering the pit![;)]

im shure that extensive motor work maybe... but dollar for dollar? i dont think unless you can do all the work yourself?

GoatManx -> RE: TURBO'S!!! (9/8/2008 10:04:36 PM)

Kind of hard to compare forced induction to a naturally aspirated motor... but don't get it twisted nitrous is the equalizer... it may not be on all the time like the turbo but simply for power purporses you don't lose any horsepower spraying nitrous. :)

CrazyCajun -> RE: TURBO'S!!! (9/8/2008 10:04:43 PM)

Well i dont know about the boost and all that stuff.....LOL

But i do know i got SMOKED on my RzR and my TCat by his little old turbod rzr.....Only commit on all of that was it was on DRY ground.....

Mr. Kleinwild....i have posted the magazine write up on the kit i have on my 08 rzr. if you look at page 9 i think there is a dyno of the rear wheel horsepower of oh around 78-80hp. i think that would be a lil over 100 hp at the crank? correct? i have posted my kit for you viewing pleasure/proof of what i say is true. i dont lie to impress nobody! plus on top of the turbo i have a few motor mods from Speedwerx. thank you sir.
